We both still have some coughing and for me, I am a bit emotional down after reading the story on another thread last night.

Just now I walked past Starbucks and bought the Starbucks tumblers. A set of 6 cups for $29.90. It will change colour if hot coffee is poured in. My kids were delighted and they choped one colour each.

I simply love the feeling of holding and slipping hot coffee from these cups. As I had a cup of Tea this morning, I did not want to drink anymore caffeine stuff so I put plain warm water into the Starbucks cups and surprisingly it works! I love the feeling and I drank a lot of water today, ๐Ÿ˜‚
Maybe itโ€™s like smokers wanting to quit smoking so they hold on a cigarette between their fingers but donโ€™t light it.

Not sure about the full screening, but I discovered that the Pap smear has been replaced by an HPV test for those over 30 yo. I was planning to book one when Omicron hit and polyclinics and GP clinics were overloaded, so I've postponed it for the time being. Maybe in a couple of months' time.

I'm ambivalent about doing a lot of screening at my age - better not to check if all seems well? Sometimes I feel that modern medicine just drags out the long years of weakness and poor health.

You may book with Singapore Cancer Centre and get your free mammogram and HPV test on same day.

These three common cancers are with good survival rates if caught them early: cervix, colon, and breast, and I really encourage all to go for screening when the 'age is right'. So really no good reasons for 'modern generation' people to only discover such cancers at late stages. Other cancers more difficult to catch and so no choice have to risk.

I went SCC (Bishan) maybe 2 years ago and the people there were friendly and experienced. Waiting time (with appointment) was also reasonable (remember was about 15 minutes).

              * I read the above website and now seems chargeable if without Blue / Orange CHAS. My time was free (maybe I caught the 'promotion' during breast cancer month). I received an invitation email and so just booked the appointment.

Thanks! I plan to book a HPV test at a polyclinic soon-ish (rather busy at the moment). Did a mammogram a few mths ago, so don't need that just yet.

I think it is nuts to take off the mask when we are still having thousands of cases of omicron.
Those people who likes \"freedom\" can go ahead and pollute the air.
But let me have my freedom to leave my mask on.

Look at it this way - the faster it spreads, the sooner it should go down. And since it's already much lower than 2-3 weeks ago, even if it goes up over the next 2-3 weeks, it won't be too serious. To me, what has more serious repercussions on life and society is the way that people are still so frightened of people on HRN who have tested negative, and then imposing more restrictions on them than the authorities require. It's very limiting on work and getting back to normal.

For someone like me who lives in HDB and takes public transport, daily moving about won't really change. I'll be keeping my mask on simply because it's too troublesome to be doing the on-off-on-off every few minutes:
                        Home (off)-lift (on)-walkway (off)-MRT station and train (on)-pavement (off)-office building(on)!
I expect that many people will do the same, and no-one is going to be forcing people to take off their masks if they don't want to.

But my husband and I are looking forward to taking longer walks now - we used to do that pre-Covid, but found it too uncomfortable with masks on.
