If your kid has two WLs, in late-October he/she will need to rank them in order of preference. MOE's system will then see if one or both WL would be converted based on the COs that are given up at any particular school and the student's ranking within each school's WL. If both WLs would have been converted, the student will be given a spot at the WL school that was ranked higher and he/she will not participate in the S1 posting.
Hi KSP
If I may clarify that once a WL converts to a CO after the release of PSLE results, the applicant will not be able to participate in the Sec 1 posting exercise? What if my kid has WLs for 2 schools and eventually both converted to CO after the release of PSLE results, do we get to choose which one to accept? Or at MOE's discretion? -

You would have had to rank your WLs in order of your preference, during submission of the preference form.

Thus, on PSLE results day, you will see only your higher preferred school allocated to you. (Assuming your scenario of both WLs are converted. *If only the 2nd choice is converted, then obviously you will get allocated your 2nd choice.) -
While I think it is great news that so many schools would want you, getting multiple offers from different schools would be an overkill. Why not just go all out for one and be done with it? :?
Do the teachers administering DSA know about the other applications made by the students? If I am one of those teachers, I would frown on such applicants because, in my opinion, they are not serious about their intentions to go to the school. -

(Half-joking)…Becos Singaporeans have it so ingrained in them that they must get 3 quotations, then compare all 3 and see which one is the best deal…but maybe finally will decide not to give any of the tenderers the business.

Could I ask : if I apply DSA to only one school and no CO is offered by that school, then I will still be participating in S1 posting, right? But if I apply two schools and at least one of them offered CO, then I am not necessary to participate in S1 Posting?

If at least one of them offered CO, u can choose whether to accept one, or neither. If u accept any CO, then u are not allowed to participate in S1 posting. -
Thank you Zac’s Mum for clarification.

I don't understand why applying for more than one school for DSA should be frowned upon. When we apply for jobs, we also apply for more than one company, no?

Besides, even if a child receive multiple COs, it does not mean that the COs are wasted. The child can only accept 1 CO. The rejected COs will be flowed over to those who received WLs. -

If I compare 2 candidates:

...
a. someone applies to my company and I know he also applied to my competitor,
b. someone whom I know applied only to my company because he feels I'm the best there is, for his situation.
Who should I prefer, assuming that they evaluate to the same score?
I would prefer the second person, because I know he would do what it takes to succeed in my company, vs one who has choices to go elsewhere. Choice can be a dangerous thing, when one knows there's always a way out. It's like citizens vs PRs. As a citizen, we are committed. As a PR, we have a choice.
Now... maybe I'm overthinking this thing
But DSA is a serious commitment, and we should not play with it, even if we can.

If I know your company wil 100% employ me, then I won't apply to your competitors. But the problem is I don't know until your give me the Employment Contract (CO in DSA) and therefore I need to apply more than one jobs. It doesn’t mean I am not serious about my application.
