During your course application at NUS undergraduate portal, you are to indicate your interest for a scholarship for their consideration.
Does anyone know if NTU or NUS medicine offer scholarship? When can apply
If you are going to be enlisted for NS. You can also consider applying for SAF Scholarship from their Medical Institution. The criteria and requirement are similar to most
Scholarship application. You must have good grades, sportsmanship and outstanding leadership characteristic. During your BMT training, you must be outstanding and be selected into OCS. Without it you will not considered.
There are actually quite a few scholarships (from the universities themselves) besides the NUS Merit Scholarship open to medical students. Should you fail to receive any form of scholarship at all, just due to the inherently competitive nature of them, bursaries will also be made available to you.

If your dd has already gone through the interviews, just be patience and wait for the outcome. The result status will be reflected on her Undergraduate Applicant Portal starting from month of May. If she is not accepted into medicine then it will be given the other course she has opted during application. She can also be put on the Medicine wait-list and requested to accept the other course she has been given first while she is on the Medicine wait-list.

The whole month of May is the announcement for those applicants being accepted into Medicine. While those remaining few that were chosen but not accepted yet will be put on their wait-list priority queue. The wait-list status will be make known around middle of June till end of July. The chances for those on the NUS wait-list to be accepted should be pretty good but it also depend on the number of vacated slots leftover to be sorted out.
By then those not accepted on the wait-list will be notified and will go ahead with the given course they have chosen. For those being accepted into Medicine from the wait-list, the accepted given course they chosen earlier will be withdrawn from the system.
Do log in to the Undergraduate Applicant Portal to check regularly on the Status Outcome. I wish your dd best of luck. -

Thank you for your reply. It is so detailed and helpful. Really grateful and thank you for all these useful information.
Understand, and yes, looks like will have to wait till May then will know. Honestly, our hopes are not high at all. dd is has mentally prepped herself that she might not get in. But will hope the best. Thank you for your encouragement. -

Don't lose hope, 3 years ago, my DD feeled very sad after NUS interview and happy with NTU interview, but at the end she got selected by NUS, not NTU.

Thank you Antetokounmp. Yes, it's interesting to wait and see how things unfold, sometimes, in the most unexpected of ways. dd only has one shot. nus. She didn't take bmat.

Based on previous years’ notification patterns, we should be expecting the first batch of NTU offers to be sent out by this evening or tomorrow around 6 pm.
Good luck to all applicants and parents. -

While waiting for the outcome with anxiety, I would like to lend some encouragement to boost morale for everyone here.
My DS has good academic results and applied thru ABAS this year. He was full of confidence as he has equipped himself with credible resumes and referees but was not shortlisted for NUS Medicine interview in the end. Recollection that in 2019 he had went for NUS and NTU interviews, got into NTU wait-list but still unsuccessful after a grueling wait. He stayed on focus despite the failed attempt.
He is passionate in medicine. Understand how difficult it was and the slime chance of getting to study medicine as the competition is very aggressive. So he has chosen his course subject options carefully. He will be going to NTU SBS to study Biomedical Science and Biobusiness. Afterall he is still in the areas of pursuing medical science knowledge. This course also offer them a chance to study medicine at Duke NUS if shortlisted. Duke NUS only select 10 of the top performing students from this course and then they have to pass an MCAT entrance test to qualify. Not easy but hopefully my DS can fullfil his longing passion.
Life is a hurdle race. It’s tough and many obstacles to overcome. We worry too much and live in the moment too little. Whatever you are pursuing be focused, stay on course and don’t despair, it may just develop into a beautiful picture one day.
Yard by yard, life is very hard. But inch by inch, life can be a cinch. All it takes is one step at a time, one hurdle at a time. -
Stressful wait for parents as well as the kids. offers for other courses are coming out adding to the nervousness.
