Asking on behalf of a friend who is very worried. I tried searching on moe website but cannot find any answer.

Question: if a child fails psle English, can he still proceed to Sec 1 or need to retain one year to retake psle?

      Thanks!
English is a compulsory subject to pass for O levels. For PSLE, it is not stated that English is a compulsory subject to pass.

I can only share the experience of a child who passed English and Chinese but failed Maths and Science. This child can enter secondary school. Went to one very good secondary school, Normal Academic stream- was offered Express English and Express Chinese. For Maths and Science, she was offered Normal Academic stream. She went to a Sec school with subject based banding offered.

        Hi phtthp

Are you able to share the timetable for Science ?

        phtthp\" post_id=\"2064068\" time=\"1649633983\" user_id=\"35251:

Maybe what u can do this -
For subject (Science), say, for example, class Science Tr will distribute a timetable to all P6 students in school, to help them prepare revision for PSLE Science, by topic, weekly. Means every week, your child ought to have completed revision, for this Science topic X or that topic Y. This helps a lot, in terms of keeping your kid on his / her toe, what to revise for each week, which topic to revise. Make full use of this timetable given by your school Teacher, to help your kid prepare for Psle Science revision, at home.

I guess normal P6 life is pretty much over for the tiger kiddos. Gear up for the SA1s and then rinse and repeat for Prelim and PSLE after the June holidays.

Hope my kid's SA1 marks will see some inflation :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

                  Haha define normal P6 life?

Many P6s I know missed their Compo and Oral exams to go for their NSG matches / events during school hours. The school will arrange for a makeup exam for them, not sure when, and not sure whether using the same (recycled) topic.

CCAs still running till end of this month, then stand down for SA1 (all the way till PSLE, except maybe a fun camp in June).

All the best! I also hope our SA1 marks will be better 🙏

I guess we have two more CCAs Week 9 and Week 10 but pretty much everything else has dried up (other school activities, competition, etc). Positive is released much earlier most of the days, so easier to get to bed but more exam practice and revision to do (teachers seem to be ramping up). I guess much of the same for a few months (vs other things that can be a bit more fun).

I didn't realize the NSG conflict. We opted out of SYF since it is in the second half of the year, and don't want to spend too much time on practice (and would normally be standing down then).

Yes, best of luck for the next few weeks and written papers :rahrah:

                        Theme: 遵守规矩/法律

Content: Lady sat at void deck reading newspaper, man (neighbour) came and greet her.
