      Hi there,

I am planning to apply to SOTA under Literary Arts for my 2nd son- there is a need for a personal statement as one of the requirements. Can I ask if any one can share any tips on how to help the child? any templates available?
Any experienced parents here? Especially under Literary arts?

      TYSM!
      Regards,

Hi. I think the requirements SOTA has are quite specific, and my guess is that it will be fairly easy to consume 500 words addressing what they are asking for. Perhaps, just try to just make sure all of the questions are answered, and check that his response is written in a coherent manner that is organized and flows well. IMO, the best answers/content will be those that are true and unique to the individual.

If you are lucky, someone with specific experience here will reply with further thoughts or details. Good luck!

        Appreciate all the replies.

Planning to apply for leadership and media Club, I was thinking the testimony of the Cca teacher in charge will be helpful, as he will be able to highlight his proficiency in that particular domain. And he is also made Cca leader by this particular teacher in charge while holding another leadership position.

Won't ask for other teachers' testimonials because I believe it's abit strange if they don't know the child well, besides they did mention all other information and records will be obtained via the portal.
Understand the situation. I guess just not sure if the school in question will want to receive/point you in the right direction (i.e. where to send).

If you can get past the initial screen, I'd guess it is more likely than not the evaluators will reach out to the appropriate contacts and combined with the interview or trial this will enable them to evaluate the talent in a sufficient manner. Of course, getting past in initial screen is the key here; I'd say the system is not perfect but on the whole the selectors know what they are looking for and can pick this up in the initial applications. Good luck!

          Hi all!

There are options of choosing between O level track, IP track and no preference. Does it affect the chances of being selected at initial stage if no preference was chosen?

          Thanks!

I feel that if you like the school, like it’s your dream school, it’s a good move to choose no preference.

It doesn’t count as one. Different system.
