Can I ask if my hubby is from ACSJ (alumni) but we are staying within 1km of ACS Barker and within 1-2Km To ACSJ, do we send our son to ACS barker or ACSJ?

Old boy of ACSJ can only get into ACSJ is it?
      Yes.

      Phase 2A: only ACSJ
Phase 2C: ACSP (note: Barker refers to the Secondary School)

What is the school name, printed on your spouse Report card ?

        ACSJ ?
        Not ACS primary, right ?
        So, go back to ACSJ.

Under the combined Phase 2A -

your son cannot jump ship to another school, ACS primary, when his father (your husb) did not even study there in the first case,

        Unless 4 possibilities arise ....

        1)

your husb was offered GEP last time many years ago, and at the end of his P3 (ACSJ), he got transferred out of ACSJ into P4 GEP (at ACS primary), then Yes, under this kind of rare situation, your son can choose to enrol in either ACSJ or in ACS primary, because then, your husb had studied in both ACS schools before. Otherwise, No.

        OR

        2)
your husb is a member of the school Advisory Board or Management Committee, in ACS primary school. Then, your son qualify for Phase 2A (ACS primary).

        OR

        3)
your husb is a staff member in ACS primary school.

        OR

        4)
your son has a sibling, who is a former student of ACS primary school before. Then, your son will qualify for Phase 2A (ACS primary), due to his sibling existence.

        Note the word, \"former\".
        Because
If your son's older sibling is \"currently\" a student inside ACS primary, then your son would have already joined under Phase 1 (ACS primary). No need to come to Phase 2.

There is a 5th condition tied to MOE kindergarten, under Phase 2A. But in the context of ACS schools, not applicable here.

If none of the above conditions mentioned are met, then
        under combined Phase 2A,
you can only enrol your son back to ACSJ, since
your husb was an ex student there before.

          you will love it

Hello! Would like to find out from parents with older kids in ACS schools.

When affiliated students choose ACS for their secondary school journey, are they assigned the same PE houses as in their primary school?

DS is in P6 now and needs to buy larger house PE singlets…just wondering whether the same colour will definitely be usable in secondary school.

Er... I'm not sure... but I wouldn't think you will be retained in the same house after graduation from primary school. Do they still have \"houses\" in Secondary school?

Yes they still have houses in secondary school. I’m not sure how it works in ACS, but in St Nick’s the house allocation continues from primary to secondary…and even down thru the generations from mother to daughter and grand-daughters etc. All siblings also same house colour. The house pride is very strong in many schools.

Not sure when this started. Not in my day! I can't even remember which house I was in, and we didn't have fancy names then, just red/yellow/blue/green! When my daughters went to my old school, they asked me what house I had been in, and I can't even remember the colour! That's how important it was to us then. But they put both my girls in the same house.

Well in St Nicks the Blue house is traditionally the one with the strongest athletes. I was from Red house. Sportspeople will probably remember better cos it “matters” to us.
