I just heard my colleagues complained his petrol cost is rising from S$200+ rise to S$400 this month and he is thinking of giving up his car. Now the fares for riding with Cab or Grab are also raising everyday and I have switched to take bus and MRT to work because cannot afford the Cab/Grab fares from home to office.
I pumped petrol last week at $3.16. Today the price jumps (again) to $3.22.
I have already downgraded from 98 to 95 but still shocked by the rate the price of petrol is rising. May have to cut down on unnecessary driving or switch to taking MRT on some days if not pressed for time.

Where do we go to buy the $39/bottle? -

:hi5: same same.....started with 98 then 95 but stayed on 95 when I did not feel the difference.....
Seriously, things like 98 or vPower are just gimmicks to get you to pay more. Stay with the lowest rating. Back in the US, there's even an 89 version
. In my 30+ years of driving, I've experienced all kinds and ratings of fuel (except diesel). I have yet to detect anything while I'm driving with the \"superior\" kind of fuel, except maybe I feel atas

DH switched to hybrid to save on petrol cost. Not sure how much he is saving though.

The savings is night and day. I used to pump gas every 3 days on my Grandis with its 2.0L tank at $90-$100. Now I can easily go 2 weeks on $70 (now $90+ dollars) on my hybrid.

Nowadays I hardly spend any money on gas at all because I hardly go out, and when I do, it's via MRT :). Seriously, it makes more sense for you to go via MRT because of how extensive the network is, and you don't have to remember where you parked your car

errrrr....no....if you are buying the chicken to cook it yourself. There is a difference in fresh and frozen chicken...storage.

Fresh chicken, after buying...can still bring home to freeze half and eat half.
Frozen chicken would be sold as thawed usually and you cannot refreeze them...
If you eat outside, then I suppose there is no difference. -

It's probably best that chicken thawed to room temperature should not be refrozen, especially if it's been sitting in a supermarket for a day or so.

Frozen chicken is also sold frozen, not thawed. I've been buying frozen chicken for years now. I semi-thaw it and pull off the amount I want to cook (usually 1 kg - about 3 meals), then stick the rest back in the freezer. It's fine - I'm not sensitive to any different in taste, and my family has not suffered any ill-effects. -
in the supermarket, there are two types of frozen chicken wings (for example).
One is all frozen together. I will need to partial defrost to pack them into small packets sufficient for a meal.
The other is frozen but each wing is individual and this will be very convenient for me bec I just take whatever amount i need to defrost before cooking. -

I just remembered - there is 1 brand of frozen chicken where the pieces are frozen separately, not in a big lump. I see it in Sheng Siong, but can't remember if Fairprice stocks it. I can't remember the brand but I'll look for it the next time I go.
