haha, even if I live in the west, i cant differentiate btn JEM and Westgate.
In my mind, JEM was the “cursed” mall that kept having incidents such as glass door fell down, ceiling fell down…very few shoppers wanted to go there…but none such incidents in more recent years & IKEA became main tenant. Went there half a year ago to check out the IKEA & pleasantly surprised to see more shoppers there cos they have a better mix of shops there now.

Westgate: always been much bigger & more human traffic there.

Just share an article from CNA here, besides biological mother, there are different types of motherhood.

Actually LNW, have you thought of fostering children? I know someone who cant have children and who fostered and then adopted a baby.

A beautiful sight. They have love to give and the baby is fortunate in a way.

I am sponsoring girls for their study in Israel, West Bank via the World Vision International for more than 10 years. The problem is my DH already has a biological son with his ex-wife and he said to be fair he is OK if I want to have a kid from my blood but he won't accept those adopted baby whose have no relationship with us. He asked me to take his son as my own kid.....sigh...家家有本难念的经.

LNW

With or w/o kids each has its own set of prob.

Today looks like another hot day and I planned to hide in air-con malls to beat the heat 🙂

Hi LNW

1) children inherit genes from parents
2) safe environment to grow: children from places with arm conflict will not have such conducive environment
3) food for growth: children from food scarce places will not have enough to eat, to grow well
4) education : Teachers play important role in educating children
5) knowledge and wisdom: children are indebted to the many people before us that discovered these knowledge and wisdom
6) Trees: nature plays a big part sustaining liveable condition for children

There are a lot more than just these 6 conditions for children wellbeing.

Only 1 out of the above 6 are by parents. Non parents play a very big part in the well being of all children today.

Your sponsoring of those girls, in many aspects could change the lives of theirs for the better , more than their biological parents.

And you could be in a a good position to nurture your step son well , maybe even become an important person in his growth and he may appreciate you.

That is, if you HAVE a spare tire. Late last year, I had a flat on the highway and had to call AA for help. A difficult, expensive, and long experience. So much for driving a hybrid car where the spare has been taken up by the batteries
Very dangerous to change tyre on e'way anyway.
LTA can tow your car to nearby carpark for free.

Which hybrid did you buy?

Gonna be stressful for those mkt stalls selling chicken and F&B restaurants that rely heavily on supplies from msia.

Too busy to go the the wet mkt lately and don't like the supposed fresh chicken from most supermarkets as I find that they always smell. So ended up getting a pack of frozen boneless chix legs to try.

Cooked stew with it. DD took 1 piece and asked me why the chicken so tough. 😓 While I think it is still acceptable and value for money, both dd and ds can tell the difference in the texture of the meat.
Freezing creates ice crystals within the structure of the meat (as meat contains a high percentage of water). These ice crystals rupture the fibre which causes the meat to bleed when defrosted. If repeated, the texture of the meat will be very dry
