Moved this here to comment instead.

Gonna be stressful for those mkt stalls selling chicken and F&B restaurants that rely heavily on supplies from msia.

Too busy to go the the wet mkt lately and don't like the supposed fresh chicken from most supermarkets as I find that they always smell. So ended up getting a pack of frozen boneless chix legs to try.

Cooked stew with it. DD took 1 piece and asked me why the chicken so tough. 😓 While I think it is still acceptable and value for money, both dd and ds can tell the difference in the texture of the meat.
Freezing creates ice crystals within the structure of the meat (as meat contains a high percentage of water). These ice crystals rupture the fibre which causes the meat to bleed when defrosted. If repeated, the texture of the meat will be very dry
3 wks ago I was at a regular petrol stn and the cashier told me (from inside) asked me do it myself as there is no staff.. woah I really don't know leh..then drove to another stn and asked the attendant there to teach me.. now I m going to another stn and so far there is attendant there so haven't tried on my own.

I think this need to learn, may not be able get help everytime.
don't worry. I struggled before at the pump too.

but these days seldom there is a pump with attendants. You went to that obscure Caltex next to SJI?

The member card has 15%, UOB card has an additional -$3 or -$6 depending on the amount spent...not sure about DBS/POSBeveryday...additional 5%? I think the UOB -$6 offer is a better one.
On top of that,
1. sometimes they give out additional $5 discount coupon during a promotional period.
2. sometimes they also do a 3-days or weekend promotion of additional discount % (the counter staff will let you know)

Oh another perk is for stations with a car wash station, you will get a $3 discount coupon on your car wash within 3 days, stamped on the back of your receipt.
SPC has mind-boggling discount structure because it's kind of 'tier-ed' and need to hit certain amount to get the max discount for UOB. Not sure if it's the same for othr cards

Very dangerous to change tyre on e'way anyway.
LTA can tow your car to nearby carpark for free.
https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/ltagov/getting_around/driving_in_singapore/pdf/emas_brochure.pdf

Which hybrid did you buy?
Yeah... LTA tolled the car to an empty parking lot and I had to call AA to toll it to a tire store. I think it was Deepavali day that day, and I was very lucky the tire shop was open.

I got the super popular Honda Vezel. You probably can spot the car easily in any parking lot.

New vezel very 靓仔!!

Changing tire no joke, esp now into 'senior' phase.

I analysed the receipt yesterday after I topped up the gas....yes about 20% 😂

Firstly, I found a table dated 25 May comparing the per litre prices for different type of petrol and the station.

https://scontent.fsin14-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/283361802_5109879112423562_962095123573317556_n.png?stp=dst-png_s320x320&_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=8024bb&_nc_ohc=MNkXDIvlLfMAX9iOf-b&_nc_ht=scontent.fsin14-1.fna&oh=00_AT_ZQE1jm4A5bYu4T3oByywv6H1vlI0A9mamwz6dtvM9Vg&oe=62996FE5\">

SPC seems to have the lowest price for 95 which was what I pumped....

The discount for UOB credit card as follows:
SPC - 10%
UOB - 5 %

Then additionally for every $60 spent, there is a $3 discount.
So if your gas is >$120, $6 discount. That should be the max discount because every gas tank can only fill up so much.
That's equivalent to about 5%. So total discount is about 20%.

If you are using the UOB One card, then there is a further cashback on a $500 statement, up to 3.33%, then total discount would be maximum up to 23.33%?

Another tip I got from the cashier yesterday, I asked her how to know about the special weekend discounts which usually would usually start from friday afternoon to sunday....like additional 5%? (verbatim from her...not sure how accurate). She said check FB...it would be announced there....if you catch it, you strike lottery... 😂
