Yes, the spirit is always willing, but the flesh is always weak but we still hv to try esp if we know & u’stand what is right to do & hv the ability to weigh the consequences.
Thank you for your care and advice. I recall a phase in the Bible \"For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.\", the problem is my friends always \"over order\" food during a buffet and because I don't waste food, so all of these excess will be ended up in my stomach. However, when I ask them not to order too much food even it is a buffet, they will say they want to try these food and can finish them.
Nowadays, youngsters likes to waste food - don't want to eat... don't eat lah....but for me and DH and DS, we all don't waste food.[/quote]
I don’t know the logic of your thinking. Do u mean you don’t waste food but can waste yr health? Which is more impt?
Come to think of it, as you’re the more senior amongst the youngsters, u shld be able to set the example of prioritizing yr health & ingest only sufficiently & eat what u chooses. I can u’stand the enthusiasm of young ppl, as I’ve been there - everything new can be exciting for attempting. But at my age, I’ll choose to avoid health scare & bldg health problems esp with so much public Edn abt health. Nothing is more impt tgen health. The youngsters will hv to face the consequences of over ordering food & be learn to be held responsible for it. -
Hi all the gardeners, hope you can help me.
I have about 3m of deep planters, would like some tall to medium height plants that are easy to care for and wont need direct sunlight.
I like orchids for indoor plants in the dining room. There are windows. Do u need to re-pot orchids and how often? -

Maybe those health problems have not come out yet and therefore I still can \"胡作非为\". I will try to have more healthy food and restraint from overeating. I have come across a few times - when there was excess food leftover during a buffet, those youngsters would bury these food under prawn shell and chicken bones, etc in order to cheat the restaurant staff and avoid to pay the fines from wasting food. I was very sad when food was buried in this way.

I have not tried, but I think orchids require lots of care (aka. expertise). I prefer plants which you just water everyday with no special need for supplements. Preferably plants which grow food that you can eat

My mother used to grow roses on our balcony and it seems that it was easy to care. We always had beautiful roses on our dining table.

There are many variety of rose plants available these days and they are not expensive. But I think they will grow into a shrub so you will need space for it coz it may be a bit too big for corridor gardening.

I guess you are referring to phalaenopsis since that would usually by a dining room orchid. Most can survive up to 2 to 3 mths without repotting. It's probably good to remove the sphagnum moss it comes in after the flowers wilt. You can search the above orchid name and look for its care instructions.

Maybe you can dabao (although this may not be possible for a buffet). Or just refuse to eat - no-one can force you if you don't want to, and sacrificing food is better than sacrificing your health. At the same time, try to convince the young about avoiding waste. Maybe I mix with a different set of young people, but I find the younger people (20s-30s) much more sensitive to waste than older people.

I watched Top Gun a couple of weeks' ago with my husband - both got our senior's rate for a weekday! As soon as I heard it was showing, I knew we were definitely going to watch it. But I refuse to watch any Jurassic Park - too gory. I watched the first one and decided 'no more'!
Watched Jurassic n Top Gun this week.
Top Gun is still world class, very good !
