      I just noticed that neither HCI nor NYGH offers Art as a DSA domain. But both of these schools have AEP (and I believe they are the original AEP schools). Just curious, anyone know if these domains were recently whacked or has always been this way?

        DSA is based on 'needs' and 'wants' of a school, not what the school has to offer. For example, even though HCI has choir as a CCA, and it was always a powerhouse in Gymnastics, it doesn't ask for talents in these areas.

        If HCI (or NYGH) feels that they are able to attract students to sign up for AEP, and they have decided that they are not going to spare a DSA spot for any candidates, no point listing it down. In truth, while many schools list VA Design and Media as a category, I don't think you will see a lot of actual offer and success story, especially to the popular schools.

        Besides HCI and NYGH, of the 4 pioneer AEP schools (NYGH and HCI started in 1984, VS and CHIJ TP started in 1985), only VS offers DSA to AEP. CHIJ TP, like the other 2 schools, doesn't.

          A quick question, does the conduct grade in the report book play a big part in DSA application? My child told me most of his classmates got a ‘Good’, even the class chairman.

            If i’m not wrong (please feel free to chip in), conduct grade has 4 levels:
            Poor
            Good
            Very good
            Excellent

            I dont know if the conduct grade matters though. How could we tell?

              Did a quick search & apparently some schools state the required conduct grade in their criteria. Example:

              DSA-Sec Talent Shortlisting Criteria

              These are our school’s shortlisting criteria for each DSA-Sec Talent offered. In general, all potential students must:

              •\tDemonstrate strong passion for, as well as motivation in the respective talent areas;
              •\tDemonstrate commitment, perseverance and resilience in their talent area endeavour;
              •\tDemonstrate good character with a minimum conduct grade of “Very Good”.

              In addition, each talent areas will have their own shortlisting criteria…

                  Is the commitment for DSA into an IP school like RGS or RI for 4 years or 6 years?

                    The commitment for the domain (academic, sport, CCA) will be for 4 years but the student will be locked-in to the associated JC (6 years).
