DSA 2022

Hi, anyone received any news on HCI academics? My DS’s classmate said he received selection email for interview, English domain, after he submitted a compo.
Website says 1-7th July… so wondering is it out earlier for academics domain. -

Got it. I guess if the school consistently gets X to Y students to enroll (in AEP) from whoever walks through the gate on Day 1 (whether via S1 or other DSA domains), then there is no need to spend a DSA space on the domain. It is just interesting where they (or any school) elect to spend their spaces. Arguably, other domains could be filled this way too. I guess it's just an issue of prioritization and/or competing for students in certain areas. Not claiming anything is right or wrong here. Obviously every school has a reason and does what they think is best.
DSA is based on 'needs' and 'wants' of a school, not what the school has to offer. For example, even though HCI has choir as a CCA, and it was always a powerhouse in Gymnastics, it doesn't ask for talents in these areas.
If HCI (or NYGH) feels that they are able to attract students to sign up for AEP, and they have decided that they are not going to spare a DSA spot for any candidates, no point listing it down. In truth, while many schools list VA Design and Media as a category, I don't think you will see a lot of actual offer and success story, especially to the popular schools.
Besides HCI and NYGH, of the 4 pioneer AEP schools (NYGH and HCI started in 1984, VS and CHIJ TP started in 1985), only VS offers DSA to AEP. CHIJ TP, like the other 2 schools, doesn't. -

Perhaps per prior replies. I guess it wasn't clear but my point is HCI DSA cannot go RI for JC. Similarly, SCGS IP DSA must go EJC, cannot go RI for JC.
Hmm.. can use Sec 4 results to apply polytechnics courses ?[/quote] -
Hi, has anyone heard from ACSI Humanities domain? Thank you.

Yeah, understandably to prevent leakage from morning students to the afternoon ones.

However, this results in another problem for my son 😅 as he also has PSLE Prelim Oral at school, which was already shifted to afternoon. Now we're yet again asking for the school's kindness to shift again. -

Perhaps unique to Madrasah, my friend who's a Gov primary school teacher was also surprised to hear that.
