CS sells \"butterfly chicken' sometime ago. I tried and not much difference from the usual roasted chicken. In fact, I think the former has lesser meat at the same price of the roasted chicken.

The price hike for many items is significant but all just accept though i know there is nothing i can do
I don't think \"they\" (farmers, suppliers, supermarkets?) are putting up prices just for the sake of it (aka profiteering). It's just the way it is right now. I think most people here (on KSP) are fortunate enough that the price hikes are only painful, but don't really require any changes in lifestyle. If the prices really bite, then we can still change what we eat; we won't actually go hungry.

Exactly right? It's really mind-boggling they think we can cope at this rate.....It's getting worrying.

Recently dined at Orchard Central, A drink in a restaurant costs $8-9 these days. šŸ˜“

Am not blaming the supermarkets and I believe the price hike is from the source; increase in transportation costs, chicken feed etc
Yes, I will just grumble, complain, make some nasty comments but ultimately, if I want to eat, I will have to buy.

Maybe am price sensitive or money minded, i watch every cent that goes out from my pocket

I used to think like that but I think things can get out of hand if the prices are rising overly steeply. We will definitely feel the drastic difference in lifestyle.

And frankly, I do not think all rises in prices are justified. There are surely people who take advantage of the situation.

It depends; price of COE is 100k and am sure there are car buyers

It is not sustainable on a longer term...

I am the opposite of most of you here. I have a bad habit of not taking note of the prices of stuff. Just take and pay. Then when go home look at final bill wonder why so much. šŸ˜“

No companies operate in a loss. Every part needs to earn a little and when the goods eventually reach us, the little adds to a lot.

As slmkhoo said, as long as we are still working, we can still afford it. It is the retired seniors who have limited savings who will suffer.

I suggest to scan through all receipts because I have enough encounters to know that mistakes are rampantly made by people. There is also a category of people who make deliberate mistakes like an experience I had at an eatery where ppl would queue for the food and order many items. So, they just pay without looking at their bill. This fellow did not know I had a good sense of numbers and he entered 2 lines of extra $2 without attributing to any food items, like a generic code for scamming customers. I was not nasty to him at his dishonesty, just asked him to refund the $4 to me and he did so sheepishly.

Even the auto scanning machine I use at supermarkets can sometimes scan an item twice, it happened to me before, overly sensitive gadget so I always do a quick scan over all bills as a habit.
