Good for you..the next hike dunno how much..if 75 basis point again..the floating will be more than 2% le, for direct impact. Dunno got hope of not more than 3% till our next repricing..
Yes, we finally settled the loan. Luckily, they honoured the rate that they quoted us before the hike, so we quickly got it sorted out yesterday. Thanks for thinking of me. You’re such a good friend![/quote] -

Thanks, glad to have settled it too. As too many things on hand .. In my personal opinion, my views are that the rates will not increase drastically as it will cause a recession if it goes up too fast. The increase in rate will be rather gradual. It is mainly to curb inflation. (I’m not an economist though)

I m no economist too lol.. when we took the floating for repricing I was in the hope of gradual increase..in a way so long as the avg rate is within then should be fine..but who knows it is fast..for that short recent period la..let's hope that was the biggest increase.

Likely to have 2 more rounds of rate hikes by Fed Reserve this year, likely in August and November. Interest rates go up higher then a recession will come.

looks like now is to find money to redeem some loan..for ppl looking to buy maybe good new news later on??

would ppty prices drop during a recession?
-
Dunno leh…now some says employees mkt now means holding power is there ba…
Just thinking only…last time when we bought our place the anticipated interest rate was 4.5% once TOP if I remember correctly…just that over time due to economy up and down we have been enjoying favourable interest rate and now is anticipating it to go away, therefore causing some of us (me included lol) abit ganjiong?
In general the loan quantum then should be lower than now I think… -
I’m not expecting property prices to drop coz many are moving away fr the volatile & bear mkt, preferring to park their money in property for its anticipated capital appreciation.

Experienced 4%-5% pa before (2007 or 2008?) but for a very short while. I guess many have been enjoying a low interest environment and has not been through 4-5% (or higher) before, will be shocked. Anything above 3% is not fun.

Maybe developers are the ones making money because after selling new launches at high prices, the prices of building materials started to crash recently. -

Many friends who have used up their names to buy properties, are now starting to go into REITS. For example, Mapletree Industrial REIT is giving 5% pa returns.
