Hi, my son is in Primary 2 and is doing pretty fine for the past 15 months in Mayflower. Through my observations, whenever I am in school to render assistance during my son's excursions and school events as a Parent Volunteer (ad-hoc basis), I have not witnessed any such incidents where the older pupils cut queue during recess or after school. The teachers and the school attendants are always seen patrolling the canteen and ensuring the pupils queue up for their food. I have seen metal railings and arrows in front of each stall to direct pupils to move in an orderly manner. Although it is reflected as 30 min of recess in my son’s timetable, I learnt from his teacher, the younger ones are brought down slightly earlier to ensure they are settled before the older children come down. From what my son shares with me on his recess experiences, I am very sure that he has time to finish his purchased food and still visit the school library or the computer area for a game.

Last year when my son was in Primary 1 his class was in level 3 facing the canteen and this year still in level 3 but on the other side, of the block (found out during meet the parent session). Just a level down is the canteen. Yes, the school has many stairways, which I personally feel it has no control over it as it is located up on a slope. My son used to moan of the long stairways especially the one facing the car porch. But I always tell my son that the school is trying to promote a healthy lifestyle to keep him trim and fit and this is a good form of exercise 🙂 Now not much complains, he enjoys his walk up and down the levels.

        Hi all,

My boy is a P1 student this year. He eats very slowly but is managing well during recess time. He has time to buy a snack or drink after finishing a main meal. Otherwise, he will go play or visit the library after food. I have not heard him complaining about older kids cutting queue.

By the way, I suppose most of you are staying in AMK or nearby. I am looking for a swimming coach for my boy. Any recommendation? Please PM me if possible.

                Hello everyone,

Anyone know the PSLE results for Mayflower last year?

                Tanggy

                  Hi Tanggy,

The results were on the school’s website last year but were removed.
You can consider going to the school’s open house on 12 July. I believe the results will be shared during the briefing.

Fyi, my friend decided at the last minute to register her son at Phase 2C last year but there were no more vacancies. In fact, there was a ‘waiting list’.

My child is in P1 this year and everything is good to date. His class teacher is responsive. I see the principal involved in activities and mingle with the students / parents.

yes I will be at the orientation on 12 July.

I am still deciding between Mayflower and Teck Ghee.
                    Any suggestions?

I was old girl from MFPS and I gathered some positive feedback from other parents of older students in MFPS. Decided to register my child without asking around about Teck Ghee. So cannot tell you anything about Teck Ghee.

My child from P3 came home with a form for GEP screening test. Can anyone share some light about this GEP thingy? What are the issues involved? I just want my child to be happy.

Anyway, I told my child to sign up for the challenge and have fun. No preps or stress. Just experience the process as it’s held during school time.

                        Thks.
