      [quote="i3mum"]Hi janet_lee88,

Do you start your daughter for P1 assessment books since beginning of the year? Hehe my gal is only in K1, but I m preparing her… cos i think some of the K1 books are not really comprehensive enough… so I m going to start her with some preparation for P1.

How much are the lessons at RC? Which school is your son in?

I’ve not started my gal on her P1 assessment books yet. I believe in building up her foundation first…P1 work can wait. Lessons at RC are reasonable - English is $30 a month…same goes for Math.
      Son is in Pei Hwa.

Your son is in a good school.. now i can further understand your stress. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php

You are right, we should ensure children's foundation are right
and pretty solid prior to introduction to P1 activities. :celebrate:

          Hi buds,

My son is a in SAP school…like what we mentioned earlier, first kids are ‘guinea pigs’. Since we stay within 1km, the natural thing to do is to register him for Pei Hwa. Register first and then worry about the rest later.

          Hi i3mum,
Foundation is very impt…that foundation must be solid before going on. That’s why I keep getting my gal to practice her basics before we move on. She complains but I explain the reason to her.

            Hehee..

Worrying more now than you think you would be when you registered?

Yah, for stay-home parents, the convenience of proximity is important
cos we do all the running around. :politebleah:

              Hi janet_lee88,

I understand what you mean… but I m a working mum,so trying very hard to teach my kids on building up their foundation… I can forsee my eldest gal is ok, but need to be consistent to teach her and make sure I teach the right thing too.

                Hi buds,

With first child, register and worry later…although I was worried about Higher Chinese and English. He had group tuition since K2 for Chinese and then switched to one-to-one in P1. Spent quite a lot of time on him then as I had a reliable maid to look after younger one.

Now with 2nd child, hubby convinced me to register her in CHIJ bcos there is affiliation to sec school and Chinese is 2nd language. Yes, logistics is an issue with both in diff schools but should be able to handle.

                Hi i3mum,
It’s tough to be a FTWM. Take it easy in the meantime (K1 right?). I got kancheong only recently when I found my daughter rather slow and feedback from her teachers during PTM was discouraging.

Hi janet_lee88, you're more fortunate than me to have maid help out in

your house. Me? Never had maid. But hubs does a lot of the housework.

So far the girls don't need tuition. By next year most prob will outsource
for Math for DD1 so less stress on me with #3 and intention to go back
to work. We enrolled DD1 for violin and DD2 for piano at their request
                  only sometime this year.

                      Hi janet_lee88,

Yes, indeed, it's very tough! So much things to follow up... I m so worried I might not be able to do what SAHM did.. and my kids will not benefit.. then I really feel v.bad about it.. then if I decide to be a SAHM , then I can't provide many thigns for my family .. sigh...
