Yes, my question is if we use Grandparent's address to register for Sembawang schools in Phase 2CS, when should I make the declaration of alternative child-care arrangement https://www.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/home-address?toggle-id=using-a-caregivers-address. There is also a deadline for making declaration, which is 29 July and we will be very late if we only do it after knowing results of Phase 2C on 10 August.

Also, we saw this 3 bullet points in the declaration, and point #2 says: child must be residing in that address now to declare. So we are not sure if we can make this declaration first and standby. Meanwhile, we register with our home address for NYPS in 2C, and pray for the best.

Perhaps you can check with MOE if you can do the declaration for 2Cs after 29 July.

BTW, if you are looking at sembawang area for 2Cs, most likely, it will be left with 2 schools and may not need ballot in that phase. On the safe side, you can enquire on how you can use the caregiver address for 2Cs.

On Sembawang area, in year 2020 and 2021, there are only 2 schools offering places in Phase 2C(S) with details as below:

        1. Endeavour - phase 2C(S)
        In year 2021 : places available: 86, applied : 65
In year 2020 : places available: 64, applied : 67 and balloting required for PR<1km

        2. Northoaks - phase 2C(S)
        In year 2021 : places available 123, applied : 17
        In year 2020 : places available 173, applied : 22

Sembawang primary was able to offering places in phase 2C(S) only before year 2020. In year 2019, balloting required for Singaporeans > 2km in phase 2C(S).

Hi, can I check if it’s possible to register for a school in Phase 2B using caregiver’s address, and in Phase 2C using own address? I’m a bit of a fix because the school I volunteered at could face a ballot situation in 2B, and if I do not get, my second choice school is actually 1km from my own place.

            Any one knows? TIA!

I don't see why not, as I'm sure plenty of other parents have faced similar problems. Maybe some who has been through the same situation can comment?

I think we need to register using NRIC address

To change address, you need to do it online with Singpass and wait for the address label to be mailed to the new address. It takes about 1-2weeks.
Will there be sufficient time in between phase 2B and phase 2C to “change your address” ?
I understand the phases start almost 1-2 days after the previous phase ends.

I think they are talking about using the parents' home address, not the address on the NRIC.

                    Hi all

Can I apply for change of address now for 2C to be within 1km of the school now? And for 2B using current 1-2km address?

Anyone has same experience to share pl. Poor super stressed mummy here.

                      Hi all,

Can i clarify if my friend used the caregiver’s address and managed to get a seat through priority admission by virtue of distance, does her child have to stay at the caregiver’s address on weekdays? Or can the child go back to his own home (aka parents’ own address) before and after school.

couldn’t get any clear answer on MOE website. Thanks!

                        30-month stay requirement

If the caregiver's address is successfully used for priority admission, you will have to continue with the same childcare arrangement at the same address for at least 30 months from the start of P1 Registration Exercise, which is 29 June 2022 for the 2022 P1 Registration Exercise. If not, your child may be transferred to another school with vacancies.

                        Source: https://www.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/home-address

So yes, her child will have to stay (until parents goes off work and can fetch child home) at the caregiver’s address on weekdays for 30 months starting from 29/6/22.

Eg. My friend’s child goes to her grandma’s (caregiver) house after school, stays there for lunch/dinner and goes home with her parents at about 6pm when parents are off work. Child doesn’t have to stay overnight or on weekends at caregivers house.
