My DD successfully DSA to RGS via EL last year so I can confirm that there’s no interview questions asked , other than the analysis of the literary text .
Commitment of EL DSA kids is not significant . Some of those that I can remember are :
1) student just need to attend cca trial for a EL related cca (ie drama or debate). Need not necessarily select either of these 2 in the final CCA selection
2) take part in some EL related competitions eg Queen’s Commonwealth competition
3) attend some workshop organised by the school (frequency is like 1-2 1hr workshop in a term)
As for RI , EL DSA students totally has no commitments . Although they’re invited to join the EL talent programme Marco Polo held after school every thurs (but still need to go thru the selection trial though), this programme is not compulsory .[/quote] -
Any parents with child successfully DSAed into IP school under sport/performing art/non academic talent domain, and with school results submitted during DSA application significantly less than the school T score COP (or more if it’s AL score COP), to share the experience (in managing talent domain/academic performance) as a DSA student in the school pls. Preferably of students from before COVID, as last 2 years no competitions

Got an eg. I like to think of her as an exception rather than norm. Psle 23x no hcl at psle but dsa into nygh. Now cca captain cum national team. Still in IP track and results not at risk.

) with t-score 230-ish. Some of the the kids are already in universities, some of them still in JCs, and the rest upper sec. While they are not necessarily the top of class, none of them dropped out of IP or were really at risk of dropping out.

We will join too. I guess they probably will select 1 out of 2 or maybe 1 out of 3. For String Ensembles, my daughter and a classmate from the same school were invited for interview (both are violin grade 8 distinction), but her schoolmate has better scores than her… fingers crossed…
