I feel I m really bad in controlling my snacks. Recently the ntuc have the spicy shrimp roll 1 for 1.. 2 packets finished in abt a week. Eat till I felt so lousy even thinking of getting rid of 2nd packet..ended up still finished it. I told dh I don't want to buy it again..no one eat only I eat.
My family is really not into snacking, which is a good thing health- and pocket-wise. But my younger girl's workplace hands out various snacks and drinks fairly often, and she will bring them home if they seem interesting. But we generally eat 1 piece each, and unless it's really something we like, it just sits there till we give it away or throw it away.

As for eating \"junk\" food - my husband and I are becoming more selective because we don't want to gain weight, and we are losing our taste for highly-flavoured, high-fat, high-sugar foods. Probably a good thing. But I don't discourage my kids from occasional indulgences when out with friends as I don't want them to be so limited when they are younger. We will go for a fast food meal together once in a couple of months as we still enjoy the occasional burger/fries/fried chicken.

We snack quite alot. When I was very into the mood of baking before this, the snacks were much healthier now quite bad. I just ordered pumpkin seeds, cashew and almond nuts. Need to slowly replacing some unhealthy snacks for all of us.

Yesterday I google for pumpkin seeds crunchy bar recipe and few that I read need coconut oil which I don’t have at home…

My stomach is no good too..i checked and rechecked and seems ok..now say maybe sensitive 🤷
My stomach is very sensitive…if I eat anything oily, spicy and/or coconut, I need to look for loo.
This is also why I seldom eat out or very careful with what I order.
Tried McDonald’s pulut hitam pie. Taste more coconut than the rest. Laksa burger in my opinion not that fantastic. Fries must finish when hot or else they become chewy. In terms of fries, KFC does it better.
The one drink we love is the yuzu.

I hardly snack. In fact it’s 3 square meals. Don’t have any time to eat snacks. So nuts and chips or definitely safe with me. But hubby and kids can finish chips within 2 days.

Think maybe my digestive system had been too ‘pampered’ with homecook food. 😂

I typically eat homecook coz everytime I eat out, I get neck muscle strain which (believe it or not) due to MSG. I don’t use MSG at home. Had this for years & when ‘chefs’ start adding MSG to cold plates in chinese dinners, I start having neck strain, which was my experience after mainly cook dishes previously.

I hardly deep fry my food at home except when making the occasional special dishes. Mostly do stir fries, steam & soup. Cld be the fries & burgers combine that caused the discomfort the entire night thereafter.

Hope u enjoy Laksa Burger or the Buttermilk one with yr family which I like better.
My MIL used to eat only healthy home cooked food, had diarrhea when she ate a packet of wanton mee from the coffee shop.

Possible that your neck muscle strain could be due to MSG overdose. Everyone reacts differently to MSG. I get thirsty & cracked lips while DH suffers migraine attacks.

Hey, your cooking style is exactly like mine. I don’t use MSG at home and no overnight food too. No deep fried, mainly steamed, broiled or quick stir fry.

Oh BTW, I decided not to go for the 1-1 McDonald’s today. Never tried their fried chicken before but I guess the taste could be like eating Mc Spicy (which I just had on Wed), and the sausage egg Mc muffin should taste like the Big Breakfast which I had on Monday! 😂

Nice weather to visit the Botanic Garden’s Singapore Garden Festival 2022 to oogle at some of my gardening frds’ prize winning edibles. Very encouraged by these frds who grow healthy plants both to engage their kids & for family’s healthy meals.
