This is the Chinese documentary on all SAP schools in Singapore some parents are talking about:

Tuesday Report: When the Bell Rings
      https://www.mewatch.sg/show/Tuesday-Report-When-the-Bell-Rings-29248

NCHS is from season 1. For CCHM main have to switch to season 2 to watch it.

From theses documentary, you can know each school history, see their campus and have a feel of the vibe for each SAP school.

Some parents may have touch on this: CCH main and CCH Yishun are 2 different schools. Formal is SAP (single steam) and latter is not SAP (3 steams). Together with NYJC, all 3 managed by same school
      Committee though.

For 高华/普华, CCHM approach is all students will take lessons on 高华 during lower sec. Come Sec 3, all students will instead sit for 普华 o level exam. If result for 普华 O level result is at least B3/A2 ( not sure which), in Sec 4, will sit for 高华 O level. Else retake 普华 O level in Sec4.

If I may add some more, the other thing I like about CCHM is their uniform.

There’s more ‘oomph’ and ‘feel’ when you are chanting gang slogans and waving flags in a uniform with metal buckles. Plastic buttons and sailor moon CMI 😉

Probably not the right reason to take into consideration when choosing a school though :rotflmao:

I also like cchm due to its huge campus and historical/cultural settings. Been to cchm less than 10x but each time I went, I just felt so inspired by the scholarly decor and of cos the huge lake. You can go watch meWATCH on a documentary about the Sch. By the way, it is also nestled amongst quiet private estates so when night falls, I think girls hv to be more careful when walking out to the mrt station.
Long, long time ago, I had night classes at the former LaSalle Campus (now Goodman Art Centre) on Goodman Road for a couple of years. I had walked from that end of Goodman Road towards Tanjong Katong Road, bypassing CCHM on many, many occasions. While it’s not in the same direction as the MRT station (there wasn’t a MRT station then), I find that the neighborhood around the school is actually quite well lit and bright at night. I believe the walkway / PCN along Geylang River has been recently upgraded / developed. It should be a relatively short and safe journey from school’s entrance to Geylang River along Broadrick Road.

That's where visiting the school comes handy. Can speak to other parents and current students. We visited NHH a few years ago. According to a boy living in CCK, he chose NH over another sch nearer to home because NH has a very good Math tr, HOD then, with award kind. It seems NH is stronger in Math. So every sch will have its niche. Another useful indicator is the list of awarded schools in eg. SMO for math. Can see a few express schools in the list which gives an indication that sch put in resources.

To us, Chinese schools appear stricter and more restrictive for kids who need more leeway esp boys to grow. Hence as a parent visiting NH, the kids are prim and proper and orderly, too orderly. Kids are well behaved. So we had to imagine how a cheeky boy, not rules compliant by nature can fit in and grow in that environment. My girl would fit in that environment comfortably though, minus the higher Chinese standard part.
Thank you, will try to make a visit later this year if necessary and allowed (should be the case). Previously, I have found NCHS has the most info online / virtual open house / social media. CCHM seems to have the most vocal crowd here.

              CCHM - Marine Parade
              NCHS - Sengkang
              NHHS - Clementi
Not easy to make sure travel distance can be somewhat comparable 😆

Between the three, I like CCHM (nothing to do with the affiliation BS though).
There are very few campuses like CCHM in Singapore - historical, gazetted national monument and a freaking lake (other schools have pond - if they are lucky) on privately owned land! 学术气息浓重,历史沉淀, I can only think of TCHS (now known as HCI but don't have a lake though) and NTU in Singapore (yah... there's a trend here).
Departing at 6:00 AM Monday morning, all three are within a 10 minute range right now 😂. Excluding that, I assumed just take the one that was logistically easier...

Understand on the campus and history. Although to some this may still be a (big) pond 😆

For PSLE / S1 posting purposes, I am most interested to see if one of these stays at AL12. Maybe with HCL the tie-breaker can keep you out of the choice order ballot. I.e. if put all three in a row still some chance one of them will catch you (even if all AL11(X)).

Lol if u are happy to depart at 6am and send your child by car, even RVHS and TJC also no problem to reach on time. I think most people will plan based on child taking public tpt.

Who knows but based on the last two years I think more were out sometime in Sept than Aug (IP schools).

NUSH is obviously in the books. HCI is 26 Aug, I wouldn't count on many others before this but maybe we will be surprised this year.

                  Good luck!

Haha, that is 6 AM with child walking/taking public transport. Can reach all three a bit before 7:00 AM.

The jetpack or teleport technology would be nice for secondary school logistics...

Do the schools release CO results for all domains together? Or will it be CCA by CCA/domain by domain at separate timings?

I think a school is more likely to send out all outcomes (CO/WL/Unsuccessful) for all domains at the same time.
