I rmbr I took up my first job to fill my time before Uni & it was only $450pm before I got enticement to stay abit longer with $500pm. But I make sure they know I’m leaving for my studies at specific date. Ya, we get OT, plus meals & tpt reimbursements too.

Last few years, heard fr some of my frds their kids cldn’t find internship & some can’t find local ones rather go overseas & hv to find their own internship & pay their way thro for airfare & accommodations.

having a car brings convenience and saves time.

Anybody tried bringing a senior on his wheelchair to take a bus or MRT? Once a month, I bring my dad to take a \"feeder\" bus to Our Tamp Hub. It is quite a challenge to do so.

I live in Hillview and my office is at the North.

In front of Hillview MRT, there are lots of buses going to city or heading JB. But the bus i need to take to Bt Panjang starts almost 6am. The 1st MRT to Bt Panjang is at 6.12am.

From there I need to take another bus to the north. A car journey is about 20 to 30min. My bus trip is easily an hour and at times close to 1.5h due to waiting buses esp during off peak hours.

Again, from Hillview to JE is almost a stone throw away geographically. But I need to take a bus 176 to Bt Batok then hop onto MRT to JE.

Yes, our public transport is easily available but may not be point to point.
              Hi Star,
The Bus 176 goes to Jurong East, why you need to hop onto MRT? There are three bus stops for Bus 176 in Jurong East, the first one is opposite the seventh day church, the next one is on Jurong Gateway opposite the Ivory Court and the last one is outside Jurong Regional Library opposite the Genting Hotel.

If I need go out alone and the parking is not cheap…I prefer take mrt too but my timing is usually at off peak hours.

I took a hourly-rated job in NUS Library after my A levels - at $2 per hour! It was probably lower than market rate, but I was already thinking of becoming a librarian at the time. It was interesting (to me), but most people thought it was a terrible job - mostly cutting and pasting newspaper articles for filing, with a few side errands for the librarians when they asked.

During the Covid years, my organisation has had more local intern applicants than we have ever had before! Mostly because they couldn't go overseas and had to look locally.
