Some things will costs more when we break it into smaller batches. I just bought a pkt of 1kg almond slices at $15.50 for my Swedish Cake. Noticed if I buy the 250g pkt, it costs $5.10 which works out to almost 25% & the hassle of going frequently to shop. Gotta to weigh all costs incl time & travel, unless it’s perishables like veggies that can’t keep.

It is common that prices are cheaper if we buy in bulk or bigger packets.
For rice, I usually buy in packs of 10kg

I reward myself with grocery shopping 🙂
The prob after shopping is I realised I didnt bring my \"bull\" along to carry the goodies home.

I buy 10kg too & fill my rice bin. Only time I bought several 5kg rice was when Sheng Siong had offers for $13/bag of Song He.

I usually do grocery after lunch & hv all the manpower I need to relieve my burdens. Sunday lunch hv to eat anyway, so some involvement is btw kinda activity & they get to choose what they want (within limits). 😉

For me, the grocery shopping is always done by my \"bull\" alone. I just write down what I want to buy, then the \"bull\" will go to NTUC to carry these items back home.

I prefer to go ntuc in Hillion Mall in the early morning to beat the crowd.

The seafood section which sells prawns, fish is ready around 8am.

I think price diff for 5 or 10 kg not much for Songhe white rice mayb a dollar only on 5 or 10 kg, coz disc quite frequently for 5kg pack in fair price n SS.
Yep ,I same as slmkhoo, dun think we eat less , switch to cheaper brand if want to save cost . But eat less food also good , maybe achieve better health index … hahaha
