Okay , thank you so much for the advice
I think it's better to get Qs from the current syllabus. Per @zac's mum, the questions then are different from what they are today. So, best to just use the current questions and not to give the student a different impression, better or worse.

Today seems like a chilling Monday, no release of any DSA results.. ๐ง

Maths & Science used to be those very straightforward type of qns. Similar to our own era.
But in recent years, more & more out-of-the-box qns. Math need more higher order thinking. Need to read the qn very carefully cos they like to throw in one tiny word that if u miss, will solve wrongly.
Science qn trend is towards application of the concepts learnt, especially in real-life examples around us. Multiple cross-related topics in one qn (no longer a single topic per qn). -

I think so too. These days, to do well in Maths & Science, you need to do well in English too. LOL!

It's getting tougher and tougher. My P2 is doing some of the P3 topics, it was pushed down in the new syllabus. I'm really not looking forward to another round of PSLE 4 years later... wonder what else would change.

I know right. Feel so sad for the kids. The goalposts keep shifting. I suppose MOE thinks the kids all have more nutrition, better brains, better tuition or whatnot now, so can expect more out of them.
They forget that not all kids hit the maturity milestones early, even if there are ones at the forefront who can do those qns (hence the โneedโ for differentiator qns).
Sorry for the OT rant. -

I can go hours and hours on this... sigh.. how is it reducing stress? The goalposts keeps shifting because there will be a bunch of kids who will still do well due to likely tuition or home help. The moment these kids struggle, there's going to be help and they end up doing well still. So, someone in MOE thinks, oh, it's too easy... so let's up the game.. without considering the middle and lower tiered kids still struggling or the fact that these kids had to go through a lot of struggles and stress to get there.

Goal of education / education system is to prepare \"capable\" future citizens , not stressed out ones. Gifted children are ahead of the league anyway, but the rest struggle to keep up with pace ...

My heart pains for my DS when he looses marks for not using Keywords in science even though he managed to explain the concept ... :faint:
