        NYGH DSA Journey 2022

        For future parents' reference:

NYGH is very organized with selection and interview dates listed on their website, usually by mid May.
        Please see this
        https://www.nygh.edu.sg/news/direct-school-admission-dsa-2022-updated-2-june-2022

For academic selection tests including leadership, the notification email came out on 4th July Monday afternoon, ahead of listed 9th July Saturday test date

Interview shortlist email was sent on 25th July Monday late morning, ahead of listed 30th July Saturday interview date. In this same email, parents were told that DSA results would be out by 6th Sept

NYGH sent out mostly rejection emails on 5th Sept (so sometimes no news is good news)
CO and WL sent via email on 6th Sept Tuesday of Sept school holidays, around 10am
Unsure about how sports COs were communicated, rumour (i.e. unverified) has it some verbal offers were made earlier

Hope this will help future parents.

Hahaha.. maybe she tried not to have high hopes so that she won't feel that disappointed coz she saw her elder sis didn't get in 4 years ago and her friends around her also receiving rejections from DSA. Just a qns, will the pri sch gets to know the results as well?

Thanks Mr Clumsy for updating the list of schs for our reference too!

Can I double check what is the commitment/obligation for service leadership dsa for NY?

Congratulations to everyone who got CO & WL.
All the Best to all the P6s for PSLE.
                      :congrats:

Students admitted to NYGH via DSA (Bilingualism, Mathematics, Science ,Innovation and Service Leadership) are expected to honour their commitment to participate in the respective domain’s programmes from Year 1 to 4 and prioritise these programmes over others.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitude and strengths, bearing in mind NYGH’s academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.

                      DSA-Service Leadership

The Service Leadership Direct School Admission (DSA) Programme seeks to nurture leaders who place service at the heart of leadership with a clear sense of agency. Students are expected to go through a four-year Talent Development Programme which provides varied authentic learning experiences to develop their 21st century competencies and leadership qualities. Through the four years, students will be nurtured through the school’s Leadership Development Programme and there will be opportunities for them to attend leadership trainings. At lower secondary level, students will be able to discover their leadership potential through these training sessions. At upper secondary level, there will be opportunities to develop leadership qualities through mentorship programmes and service to the school and community.

Yes, I know of verbal offers for some other IP schools' Sports COs too.
