85% for Math & Science, which is lower than the average score. The average score for Math is usually 90s, Science 86-88. Language-wise, it is just average too. The majority of students score AL4-6.
Majority of the GEP students score overall AL4-AL6 for PSLE or for overall P6 mid-year (based on GEP papers)?

From your earlier post, I think ur DS has a good chance for NUSH as u mentioned he has gold medals in both math and science. In p6, he will be invited to take up the free classes offered by NUSH which are offered to all the gold medallists for NMOS and SPSO so he would be on their radar already. If your kid is in GE, it would also be helpful if he has participated in the math/sci masterclasses. These will also add to the DSA portfolio. Performance at the selection test and camp also factor greatly. School results are but one metric considered.
Thanks for your response. Really appreciate that. So the classes you are mentioning are both for Math and Science? I had no idea about that. Hopefully he can also improve his languages score in the meanwhile.🤞 Is your kid also interested in coding? Not sure how to strengthen my DS’s love for coding. Thanks

Hi. I would like to ask if any parents have girls in scgs or st nicholas?

My daughter received the co from these 2 schools via science domain. And i was wondering, since both schools will lead to ejc, is there any distinct difference in the ip programme between the 2 schools? Any compulsory activities they have to do?

Can also consider school fees as Independent School-SCGS charges much more. Also SAP for St Nicholas vs SCGS which is non SAP.

              Thank you for your reply.
I was wondering if there is difference in terms of say.... activities or exposure for the students? Independent school has more fun stuff?

                Psle AL4-5
P5-6 overall AL4-6. Overall AL8 is consider at the bottom already. Overall 90% will not get you within top 25%.

You will receive the invitation to join for their outreach programme in early April. Also, you will be offered to join the robotics module if your child is in masterclass.

There is a math class which ur child can take in P6, and if he passes the class, he can skip it in Y1 if he enrolls in NUSH. For science, it is a robotics workshop.

DS2 is very interested in coding but purely recreational. Not planning to use it for DSA. He follows tutorials on YouTube to build his own games. I'm not that familiar w infocomm stuff so maybe another parent can better advise.

                      Hi,

My son has just received confirmed offer from St Andrews Secondary School in the sports domain. 😅

                        Psle AL4-5
P5-6 overall AL4-6. Overall AL8 is consider at the bottom already. Overall 90% will not get you within top 25%.
With such excellent results, and consistently over P5 and P6 can score AL4, then why bother to attempt DSA? Just go take PSLE and leave a DSA place for someone who needs it more.

A small technical detail, to maintain an overall result above 85% does not mean that the student would score AL8. One can be weak in Chinese, for example, but strong in the other subjects and could still be an AL6 student.

And I am pretty sure a GEP student does not need an overall average of 90% to be shortlisted for DSA!
