Thanks for alerting us on this marketing issue which I believe most of us would have fallen into if we do not read all the Ts and Cs.
Check if the Ts and Cs spell this out clearly, usually in fine print. If it does, you have no recourse for not reading it. If it does not, you certainly can write in to CapitalLand Mall and ask for a refund.
However, even without recourse, you have made very good and valid points which you should still write to CapitalLand Mall.
I agree that at the point of purchase, if the bonus vouchers are fully redeemed, they should update their system to flag out a message as an option for customers(during the promotion period) to decide if they want to proceed with the purchase. The reason being in an offline transaction, the CS personnel would have asked the same question. So it is only apt to make the online transaction experience exactly as what is expected in a face-to-face transaction. This will encourage people to perform online transaction and adopt their alternative approach more easily instead of jamming up the CS counters. So with your feedback, I hope they would show you a token of appreciation and even without, if they adopt your suggestion, you would not encounter this problem again once they have made the change. Computerised systems can never be perfect until there are enough people who have used it and given feedback for improvement, thatβs the reality of computerisation. You are helping them to improve their CRM system, I hope they see your point. All the best. -
Yeah... I was \"tricked\" also by the $100 NSmen promotion voucher at BHG. The flyers all seem to indicate if you spend the $100 voucher at BHG, they will give you another $110. Even my sisters who was with me at that time thought so. So I happily bought $100 worth of stuff only to find out that I only get $10 of credit... :faint:
That place is expensive... need to really dig to find some cheap deals.
Oh well. Thanks for the $100, SAF. -

:yikes: Errr....where in the world can such a deal be found?.... I never thought it this way. That's why must learn Singapore Primary school Math....the keyword \"worth\" is important....

It's like set meals always say...lunch set meal at $9.90, get $13.90 worth of meal, right?
Of course I agree they can be clearer for mass communications. -

For me, I always talk to the staff from the stores or restaurants to clarify all the details of this kind of promotion on spot before making my decision on whether to go ahead with any meals or purchases over there.

Well... if you look around at the inflated prizes, it does seem possible that they have such a promotion

Luckily I only bought $120 worth of stuff, so I just paid the extra $10. -
The problem is - we may be able to get this stuff at$90.00 from other places.

I think the bigger the company the more they will get loopholes. I usually go for small companies especially tuition centres for savings on my childβs fees. With next yearβs GST hike, we are all so worried. Must save moneyβ¦ haha
