I hear that the Russians are targeting civilians with cruise missiles, but they are such paper tigers that they only managed to kill like 29 in 3 days, while accidentally hitting the SBU headquarters and various infrastructure. 🤷

Hopefully again, the ROW can see the vicious intent of the *leader* and not naively think that they are the ones maintaining the world order (their own order rather).
        别急,让子弹飞一会儿.

IMHO the \"ROW\" knows the intent of the One Ring and are quietly removing their own Rings of Power, without attracting attention to themselves. I think the trend lines are fairly obvious: the recent developments and subtle changes in attitude among the BRICS, SCO, African Union, Global South, Pacific Islands Forum, Mercosur and shhh.... ASEAN. Every time everyone needs to take a stand to support the \"world\", be it against Russia or China or whoever the enemy, you can see push back from the \"ROW\".

If you go beyond the \"kum ba yah\" moments, I think cracks are already appearing from within the \"world\":
        - Macron says European nations should join with Asian economies to demand that the US and Norway show greater friendship by selling gas at lower prices. Huh? France wants to KPKB that they are paying four times the price that USA sells internally? 4 times is already \"friendly price\" lor. ONLY US$100m+ profit per LNG tanker for the Seven Sisters. Cheap lah. Remember, “consequences”?
        - Germany’s Scholz will be traveling to China in November. Dunno what he wants to talk about but I bet it’s not about the Oktoberfest or \"decoupling\" from China.
        - Italy just elected a new government (with a leader who's in Putin's camp, https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/10/12/meloni-italy-russia-big-winner-election/) and Italy continues to buy gas from Gazprom (ie gas produced in Mordor) via Austria.
        - Hungary says they won’t support any additional sanctions against Russia if it involves energy. Lo and behold, no energy sanctions in the 8th round of sanction by US / EU (the 8th sanction mentions a lot of plastic, not sure who else in the world can supply more of that rare commodity). That said, Hungary is 哪根葱?!

We are living in very interesting times.

Then what you think Russia should do? Drop a nuclear bomb on Ukraine?[/quote]
Russia should go into negotiations with Ukraine for a political settlement.

Russia should be under constant US surveillance now. Before they launch any nuclear bomb, Putin could be killed by US operatives or his own people first.

Why then is the Ukrainian govt so foolish to volunteer as a sacrificing lamb for the US if there is nothing in for the Ukrainians?

If the US and Nato are so unhappy with the Russians then should fight head on with them to show the world who is the real boss than use a *3rd* hand to do the job. This will send a strong signal to the ROW that the US is still the strong leader (or big bully) that it once was apart from its strong USD and military prowess. Keep it simple.
Ukraine was forced to go into war after it was attacked, it didn’t volunteer itself as a sacrificial lamb for the US.

If US can wear Russia down without dirtying its hands and without deploying troops on the ground, why not?

Unlikely. The 扫黑除恶 movement in China is no joke - the defence contracts, military supplies and what not may not be up to what they are supposed to be on paper, but probably not far off. Most equipment should be functioning lol 🙂 :rotflmao:
China was once a paper tiger. During 甲午战争,it lost to the Japanese big time. China had the biggest battleships in this part of the world then but still lost badly.

China’s soldiers have not seen blood for many years (since 1978?) whereas American troops have been fighting wars year after year. China has many “little emperors” who, when asked to enlist army when war starts, may quickly take the first flights to get out of their country, just like the Russians.

During World War ll, there were a lot of 中国汉奸 😂. Even now, many ultra rich PRCs left China and are not keen to go back. Not so sure how many little emperors are willing to die for their own country.

I hope no PRC is reading my post. :siam:

France is not so bad cos they have nuclear plants, whereas Germany happily wanted to be sustainable and committed to having zero carbon footprint by 2050 (?). France has no outage problems. It's Germany which is in deep sh!t cos Merkel signed the gas pipe deal with Putin 10 years ago. The US (and its staunch ally Poland) is trying to cut Germany off from Russia so that this landlocked nation can once again rely on the US for their freaking expensive LNG, as well as procure more F35 and other weapons. Rumour has it that the Polish, alongside the NATO special forces, ''blew up'' Nord Stream II.

                - Germany’s Scholz will be traveling to China in November. Dunno what he wants to talk about but I bet it’s not about the Oktoberfest or \"decoupling\" from China.

Hard to decouple cos so many German MNCs and plants in China making cheap parts. France is quietly waiting for their turn to rise again. France was out of NATO for several decades after CDG withdrew from it in 66. But Sarkozy later rejoined...

                - Italy just elected a new government (with a leader who's in Putin's camp, https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/10/12/meloni-italy-russia-big-winner-election/) and Italy continues to buy gas from Gazprom (ie gas produced in Mordor) via Austria.

Italy all along is pro-China. They are part of the BRI and are probably glad that Venice the trade & commerce hub during Shakespearean time is going to be resurrected once again. The Netherlands too are very happy with BRI, as the BRI ends at Rotterdam port, another 15th-16th century hub.

                - Hungary says they won’t support any additional sanctions against Russia if it involves energy. Hungary all the while is pro-China and semi-autocratic. EU is trying to kick this rogue member out. Hungary is also linked to the BRI from Athens seaport, that is. Rem they had offered some Chinese vaccines to their pp, and recognised the Chinese vaccines last year, like Netherlands, Italy, Spain, etc. All stand to benefit from the Belt and Road.

Hungary suspiciously wants to revive its Austro-Hungarian empire and unify the lands it once controlled before WW1. Turkey also trying to revive its Ottoman empire. You observe their stance and antics during this war. They pivot a lot.
Anyway, we SG must watch how Thai and Viet pivot. See they have abstained in the latest UN voting... The only 2 in ASEAN. No wonder must send RAdm Teo CH the heavyweight to BKK and now MG CCS to Hanoi.

Indon also must watch closely. Looks like the Bandung and JKT HSR carriages have just been delivered by China last week.

Why should you be surprised at how this vote turns out? You can almost predict to a T how the result will turn out. You can compare this with a similar one in March 2022, condemning Russia's invasion. The countries took more or less the same position (for ASEAN: Thailand moved from in favour in March to abstain in October, whereas Vietnam remains in abstention throughout).

                  https://i.postimg.cc/c41cF4NP/whatsapp-image-2022-03-02-at-10-58-09-am-1.jpg\">

At the end of the day, this vote has no bearing and is non-binding. USA has been at the receiving end of many rebukes from the UN General Assembly before as well. So? At the 75th session (2 years ago), the votes in GA/12341 was even more overwhelmingly against USA. UN was seeking an immediate end to the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the USA against Cuba. 有用吗? FWIW: 184 nations were in favour to 2 against (Israel, United States), with 3 abstentions (Brazil, Colombia, Ukraine).

Americans, Chinese and Russians all have 'little emperors' that when need to enlist, will either fly out of the country, or find a way to avoid being drafted. Nothing surprising there. Don't think so? Ask President Bone Spur or President Let's Go (five draft deferments) Brandon how they did it.

As Jean-Paul Sarte said: \"When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die.\" Why? Because the rich people either fly away, or find ways to avoid being drafted. 10s of thousands of Russian probably did try to siam, but that’s hardly a blip against the millions who will be eligible and participated. Don't read too much into media reports, especially when it's coming from the other side. That's how war propaganda works.

As for the point about American troops fighting wars year after year, that's true. However, besides fighting farmers, goat herders or armies with outdated weaponry, have they faced any comparable army head-on on the battlefield since WW2? The answer is obvious (FWIW, they still can't beat the farmers and goat herders). The whole situation is a bit like Singapore football team trashing Laos or Brunei every time and thinking we are suitably prepared / equipped to take on Thailand, Cambodia or even Malaysia in the next football tournament.

Besides, warfare between two modern armed forces is no longer \"mano a mano\". It doesn't matter if you are a battle hardened 10 year veteran; the scrawny kid who can't do even 10 push ups will kick your ass because he is so damn good at FPS. This Ukraine war is fascinating if you are a fanboy of war machines. It's really the first modern war fought between two evenly matched adversary using modern machinery (yes, Russia is the no. 2 military but the initial forces deployed in Ukraine is only a handful of what they have - probably a strategic mistake by Putin).

If China's rocket system is anything as good as Russia has shown in this Ukraine war (and no reason to suspect they are not even better), China's A2/AD and long range strike capability will be undeniable. That fear is already being translated into action by the other side - moving back from the first island chain, and the rush to stockpile weapons on Japan / Korea / Taiwan (better 'you' than 'me'). So far, Russia has already show that their dagger (Kinzhal) is impossible to stop while China has numerous DF-21 (arguably better than the Russian's) in stockpile. USA? They have the still-working-on-it Magic Missile (1d4+1 damage per dart according to D&D 5th Edition rules)

The other thing why it's no longer about the 'man' is the usage of drones. While not shown or stated in the media, Ukraine's recent successes is likely to have come from the deployment of US made Switchblade and Phoenix Ghost. It is an area that the Russia is very lacking / weak in. Not surprisingly, they decided to order some off-the-shelf Shahed-136 from Iran to give Ukrainians a taste of the same medicine. China's answer to all that? The equally capable FH-901 in her arsenal.

Proof that China is the greatest threat to world peace.

I also read that Russia is running out of missiles. They ran out of artillery shells 3 months ago.

US has invaded Iraq and Afghanistan in past 20 years. Did China Invade any countries during the past 20 years?
How come China become the greatest threat to world peace? :?
