China was once a paper tiger. During 甲午战争,it lost to the Japanese big time. China had the biggest battleships in this part of the world then but still lost badly.

China’s soldiers have not seen blood for many years (since 1978?) whereas American troops have been fighting wars year after year. China has many “little emperors” who, when asked to enlist army when war starts, may quickly take the first flights to get out of their country, just like the Russians.

During World War ll, there were a lot of 中国汉奸 😂. Even now, many ultra rich PRCs left China and are not keen to go back. Not so sure how many little emperors are willing to die for their own country.

I hope no PRC is reading my post. :siam:
Yes, you are correct as China was very weak and backwards in the past, below are the photos showing the past and the present of China for your reference.

Proof that China is the greatest threat to world peace.

I also read that Russia is running out of missiles. They ran out of artillery shells 3 months ago.

I got this from malign Chinese influence. I also get paid 50 cents for this post.
Written by a typical wumao, you missed my point entirely. At no time did I claim that China is the greatest threat to the world. My post is about China being another potential paper tiger despite its impressive array of military hardware.

Russia may or may not have run out of missiles or artillery shells but its claims of being the number 2 military power now sound hollow. Besides all the tactical failures on the battlefield, the invasion of Ukraine was a big strategic misstep as it simply drew the West closer and finally forced Germany to wean itself off its addiction to cheap Russian gas.

How to sign up and be a wumao? Got link or QR code to scan?
I've been trying asking around but no one can point me in the right direction.

The claim sounds 'hollow' because the west / western media says it is hollow? What are you expecting? BBC, CNN or AP / Reuters / Bloomberg to sing the praises for Russia? 🤷

Essentially, this is a fight between the number 2 and number 1, with Ukraine / Ukrainians as the test subjects. If this is a fight between Ukraine and Russia, the whole operation would have ended a long time ago. This war is interesting for many 军迷 because it's the first time you can compare claims that countries (mostly USA and Russia) have made about their weapons. It's the classic 矛 and 盾 issue:

              1. Russia T-90 is really as good as they say they are. However, USA FGM-148 Javelin is an equally capable tank-killer.
              2. Russia assortment of rockets is impressive but they haven't use them often enough (don't have enough in their armoury? don't have enough valuable targets to use it on? don't know how to use them?). The world number 1 still doesn't have an air defence capable of stopping Kinzhal.
              3. US made Switchblade / Phoenix Ghost will be on everyone's Christmas wish list, while Russia LAOP-500 won't make the cut. Thankfully, Shahed-136 is available for those who don't like Made-in-America stuff.
              4. The only disappointment (for 军迷) is not seeing many aircrafts in action. Understandable because the Ghost of Kyiv had been so successful in destroying all the Russian planes that Russia probably don't see the point of providing air cover. Besides, why bother about air cover when Russian troops were happily and openly travelling on the highway. Our army boys should tell their Encik why must take cover, Russian army also never take cover (yah... but that's before the Ukrainians showcase the Javelin / Switchblade / Phoenix Ghost in action).

Last but not least... drawing the West closer together? If by the West, you mean US, Canada and UK, that maybe correct. If by the West, you mean US, Canada, UK, France and Germany, hmmm.... acceptable but questionable. If by the West, you mean North America and Europe... no one will take you seriously. Sweden far-right had made big gains in their recent election (anti-immigrant). Italy just had a new far-right government (anti-immigrant). Did Brexit happen? (anti-immigrant). France is complaining about USA and Norway openly. Hungary and Poland don't want to be bossed by Brussels (although it probably has nothing to do with the war and they probably shouldn't be in there in the first place). The Baltic states have kept a very low profile since the war / energy crisis (they are self-sufficient in their energy needs). Internally, as election approaches, GOP is questioning the billions of taxpayers' money spent. After Biden's 'shellacking' in November, expect the DEM to start throwing him under the bus.

Every man (or woman) for himself is the opposite of 'drawing closer together'. Fresh coats of paint won't be enough to cover the cracks when the house is falling apart.

              Winter is coming.

Who's currency is the most valuable in the world now? I don't mean the Rouble which is at a 7 year high.
Which government can be described by this term: military–industrial–congressional complex?
Who is asking the world (ok, the west) to set the max price they are willing to pay for a competitor's gas while offering the world (ok, the west) exorbitant prices for gas?
The Ukraine war is basically a giant expo for modern war machines complete with moving lights and sounds. Who is producing most of the equipment on show?

                The answer: China of cos!
I would like to claim my 50c.

Damn it....shouldn't the answer be the US to all the questions!? China is not even in the picture lest forcibly dragged in by the same entity.

By the way, if you have nothing else better to do, or are troubled by loud celebrations in Paris, here is a very fascinating live stream where nothing is happening:

Will Liz Truss still be Prime Minister within the 10 day shelf-life of a lettuce?

We are into Day 4 now...
