[2022 Sec 4 student]: Time flies! It's been almost 6 years since I started coaching this student. She managed to build up a pretty strong CL foundation over the years thus once she mastered and applied the relevant techniques and analytical skills by the time she moved on to upper Sec level, she managed to excel and fulfil her potential. (She has nice handwriting too! )

Decided to offer 1-to-1 Chinese oral exam practice this June school holiday after some parent enquiries (having first conducted such sessions 2 years ago during CB period).

I'll be conducting 1-to-1 Chinese oral exam practice during November once again, this time for 2023 Pri 6 students.

Why so \"early\"?

1. Lack of opportunities for students to practice oral in school (esp. on a 1-to-1 basis)
2. PSLE Oral exam comes first and being in mid Aug, there's less than 10 months left.
3. Identifying areas for improvement early = more time to work on the necessary

[2022 Sec 2 student]: 77/100 for EOY HCL Paper 2. This student did not take HCL in Pri level but she still managed to do fairly well in Sec level HCL. Thus, for parents' whose children are offered HCL in Sec level, the more important factors to consider includes their foundation in the language and their mentality/attitude towards it (whether they are willing to put in consistent effort and give it their best shot).

[2022 Sec 2 student]: HCL in Sec level is challenging, let alone the fact that this student is of mixed-ethnicity. The heartening thing is he never try to find excuses/reasons - mentality plays a huge role in learning. :rahrah:

Just want to add to the alr numerous accolades for 陈老师, as he had guided my DS thro’out his HCL & he did well achieving an excellent grade.


Most importantly, DS son enjoyed his learning with him & worked well with Chen Lao Shi. As a tutor, I recognized he’s always mindful of my boy’s learning style & motivated him appropriately to engage him into constructive learning. They’ll always be frds with mutual respect.

It's a pity this student had to miss Paper 1 due to Covid. Health obviously comes first, but to be able to go through the experience of a full exam and achieve such grades can only stand him in good stead.
