My hubby's DBS RM told us about this promo 2.6% p.a interest on minimum $100,000 fresh fund. But cannot withdraw for 6 months. And it has to be really fresh funds. Your total bank balance cannot be the same as before. :rotflmao:

We are quite kiasi so we went with this option for the time being. Not sure about the details but it is not really a FD in the traditional sense.

My hubby's gut feel is that FD interest rate might be around 5% by middle next year.
Oh I tot you would have gone for BOC at 3.3%. I hope it doesn’t go up further as it might trigger a recession.

Do watch the youtube videos on T Bills - I can’t explain as well as the youtubers do. T Bills are principal protected only if you hold them to maturity (which is super short anyway, 6 mths or 12 months); SSB can be liquidated without any penalty, any time, and it takes at max a month to liquidate it.

          Yes I hold both.

Minutes of the latest FOMC meeting, likely more hikes still.

                eg FWD 4.5% https://www.fwd.com.sg/personalised-financial-advice/save-first-series-2/
                Great Eastern 3.38% https://blog.seedly.sg/great-eastern-great-sp-endowment-plan/

vs other options (FD, tbills, SSB)

I may be keen in this FWD plan. Pay say 10k per year for 2 years and at the end of 2 years, we received 4.5%pa guaranteed?

About your qn, I think it is better to spread your eggs. The FDs and tbills are short term; SSB though long term ie 10 years but each time allotted only a relatively small amt.

Do you have lobang for this FWD deal?

Thank you. At 4.5%pa with 100% capital protection, the FWD endowment plan is attractive

DBS has 5-month FD promo of 3.8% p.a interest on minimum placement S$20,000. Fresh funds not needed! 😄

You need to log into the DBS digibank phone app and key in the promo code when setting up the FD.

                      \"SR9M\" for 5-month FD rate of 3.8% p.a.

                      \"SR5M\" for 3-month FD rate of 3.5% p.a.

You have to use the digibank phone app. The promo code won't work on the ibanking website.
