An alternate shortlisting of secondary schools for selections. One of the shorting listing criteria is simply cut off point, instead of score range of all students accepted into the schools. It also offers other standard shorting criteria like CCA, location etc.

Go to this link and open the “ Singapore Secondary School Search” workbook. View it on computer/tablet instead of phone:

The closer the date, the more nervous I become… I want it to come sooner but yet same time dread THE day. Need to slowly psyche myself up.

I wonder why they can’t just disseminate the results via Parents Gateway and be done with it. Collect cert later. Still must sit thru all the talking and clapping (none of which really concerns the majority anyway).

Then everyone will still be talking and clapping while waiting for the results to appear in the Parents' Gateway... 😂

I suspect that it's because PG is for parents whereas the results should be distributed to the students directly. Of course, as parents, we feel that every exam our children take is OUR exam 🙂

Ours will be in the school hall. If it drags on till 11.45am I’m sure the parents will be using their phones to check results online. But the kids…still have to sit and wait in suspense until they receive the paper.

Based on my DS’ school’s notice, parents (which allows for both, not 1 parent, to attend) and students are to proceed to the school hall at 10:40am. I’m not sure how they would give out results from there but I suspect that most, if not all, students would know their results before 11:45am.

Not all kids are so fortunate to have parents caring them, some are orphans or some with incompetent guardians. Some working parents may also be busy working or travelling overseas and forget the release of PSLE result of their kids and therefore the result have to distributed to the students directly.

The issue is not how MOE disseminate the results, it should be the ways how parents or the students face the results.
For DH, he was not nervous about DS's PSLE result because he knew that DS would be offered a place in a secondary school (any school near us would be fine), so whether the disseminating was via on-line or direct give to DS - both were fine. The most important was getting the result and went for big feast and movie afterwards.

I was waiting my ToTo result last night but even it was announce via radio or online or newspaper this morning, I am also happy. 😄
