Hi all. I’m thinking of putting VS O level programme as first choice. His score is exactly AL9 and is SC. What are the chances that there will be balloting at AL9?

Unfortunately, no one knows. It depends on how many AL4 to AL9 students choose VS O Level this year and no one knows that until the submission date is over.

For last year (Sec 1 2022 intake), it was AL9. I would take it as a 50-50 chance of balloting.

Do take the time and ask your son to choose more schools (esp 2nd and 3rd choice) that he is keen (school environment, CCA, .... etc).

All the best.

Since last year cut off was AL9, very high likely chance there will be balloting. No harm putting first choice but 2nd choice think carefully ya...all the best , hope your boy can get into VS. The culture of the school is fantastic!
