Does anyone has any recent experience in renewing Indo maid passport? I’ve made the online appointment, printed the forms and all but unsure if there are any watch outs. Such as can employer tag along or only they are allowed to enter due to covid? Also photo taking and any other special things to take note of ?
My helper’s passport is expiring in Nov 2022. Agency said there is no hurry to renew till she is going back. I just renewed her WP for 2 years and passport renewal is not a criteria. -

My helper's passport is expiring in Nov 2022. Agency said there is no hurry to renew till she is going back. I just renewed her WP for 2 years and passport renewal is not a criteria.
All previous practices changed, forexample :-
1. Used to be cannot bring outside photo & had to queue later long time for the in-embassy phototaking which costs $20 back then. Now, she’s allowed to bring photos fr outside of embassy according to requirements
2. Used to hv to pay for photocopies of old passport & WP at embassy, but this round we cld help her copy fr our home printer.
3. Used to accompany my previous helper inside the Mynmar embassy 7-8 years back but this round not permitted to enter with helper. She has to go on her own & eyer’s not allowed to lioter around. Apparently, at Martin Road area lots of complaints abt crowds & noise.
Lots of past practices hv changed since covid. 15 years back when I helped my Indo maid, I need to be present as they interview & ensure their nationals do not get unfair terms. I guess these issues hv been taken care of by our recent MOM rules & social group pressures. Call them to check.
Just to share that we’ve nvr engaged the services of agencies. My helper told me some agents charges btwn $100-300 just to help them get a Q number for renewal of passport at the Mynmar embassy. We had the number to the embassy & whatsapp them for an appointment date, as it’s almost impossible to book a Q number online. We were told agents will set their laptop on just after midnite to book multiple Q numbers to ‘sell’, hence those innocent individuals will find no more Q numbers during daytime.
Impt to renew ahead of her departure or renewal coz it might take months as far as I’m aware esp for the Filipino helpers, it’s a long many months process. -
What compensation should I be giving to my FDW as she wasn’t able to go back to PH due to the COVID pandemic? I read somewhere that it should be the cost of a return-trip airline ticket to the nearest airport to her town? How do I even calculate that? I looked at the MOM website but it doesn’t seem to cover this.

You have to pay her the home leave (about 2 weeks) if she is not going home. You can try on those ticketing website to find the cost of the air ticket.

Thank you - so 14 days extra pay and the cost of a return ticket? Where are these policies documented? I can't seem to find them on MOM's website.

It should spell out in the contract agreement between you and the helper. This is usually the general practice.

After registering my Filipino helper on the POEA website and adding her beneficiary, SSS and PAG-IBIG data, I was able to directly obtain and print her OEC online (no appointment booking or fees involved).
The website states that the issuance of an OEC requires an active OWWA membership - I know that her membership has lapsed (via the OWWA mobile app), so I’m unsure why I was able to obtain the OEC. In any case, we will be renewing her OWWA membership at the embassy shortly.
Her most recent contract/employer undertaking has not been certified by the embassy (although her work permit and insurance are all in order).
Will this matter at all when she returns to Singapore? It seems the OEC is all that matters.
I’m aware that she needs to register for an eArrival Card from the One Health Pass website as well.
I am able to get her vaccination record from HealthHub, but not her vaccination certificate from the Notarise website; is the former sufficient? -
Yes look at the service agreement, it should be there.

For DIY renewal contracts, besides the 14 days of leave, do you include the airfare?
