For me math maintained. The rest all got worse. Was an AL9 student all along. Became AL14. 😭

My fren’s daughter’s science also fell from AL1 to AL3. Her science is usually AL1 every term, she even got top in cohort for science. So her AL3 was a complete shock to her too.

Mine more or less maintained for math, science and Chinese but improved in English. English was the shocker for us, totally unexpected.

Sorry to hear.. was it because the prelims were much easier than the actual exams?

My DD also improved in EL, Sci also got improved. Although she complained these two papers are harder.

GEP school? Maybe prelims were tougher.

Neighborhood school in the north but a popular one. Not GEP.

I think for English there’s higher chance of improvement because the marking for comprehension is not as strict in PSLE. Grammar and spelling mistakes are not penalized in comprehension.

But it’s also a subject that can easily sway because there’s compo and oral which I feel are areas that can cause the swing either way.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that 😞 Hopefully, your child will not let this overwhelm him or her.
