Does it mean the results are not reflective of the prelims and a lot of people got higher AL than expected?

Based on those that I know, some kids maintained, some kids did better (eg AL9 to AL5, AL17 to AL11) and some kids did worse (eg AL 6 to 10, AL4 to 7).
Does it mean the results are not reflective of the prelims and a lot of people got higher AL than expected?
I think sometimes when they do well for prelims, some could have gotten complacent. But those who didn’t do well, could have put in more effort after prelims. -
My DS did better in his Maths during the PSLE than he did in his MYE or Prelims. Several of his close friends also had better Maths scores.

It was really a big swing for me. Esp science. From AL1-AL5

For me math maintained. The rest all got worse. Was an AL9 student all along. Became AL14. 😭

My fren’s daughter’s science also fell from AL1 to AL3. Her science is usually AL1 every term, she even got top in cohort for science. So her AL3 was a complete shock to her too.
It was really a big swing for me. Esp science. From AL1-AL5
Mine more or less maintained for math, science and Chinese but improved in English. English was the shocker for us, totally unexpected. -

Sorry to hear.. was it because the prelims were much easier than the actual exams?

My DD also improved in EL, Sci also got improved. Although she complained these two papers are harder.

GEP school? Maybe prelims were tougher.
