The festive celebrations have begun for me. Seem to be more gatherings this year. Maybe cos I am staying put instead of heading overseas, I get to join most of the gatherings and even host a couple. Past few years, though we could not travel, we could not exactly gather either or organise big gatherings. So most of us only gathered with our families. This year, it's like gathering with a vengeance. Everyone is organising something. Friends and I were saying good chance to clear all the wine and liquor that have been languishing in all our cabinets and wine fridges for the last few years and now that we can travel, we can start stocking up again for next year. 😉

Been a few years since I hosted any gatherings for more than 10 people at home. Tiring affair. Or maybe energy level is really going down with age. Unable to multitask as efficiently as before.
Since your DH is having minor Cardiovascular disease, try not to let him take and stock up wine and liquor at home. I and DH and DS are not a drinker, so wine and liquor are never found in our house.

Just wonder whether your dog will bark at those guests coming to your house? For me, I will never go to a house where there is a dog because I am very scare 😱 of dog. :siam:

My dog hardly barks. He will get excited if people around him behaves excitedly, even then he will not bark. On the whole he is a very well behaved dog. If he gets overly excited, all I need to do is to tap him or tug his collar and he will settle down. He is trained as a therapy dog.

As for DH, I can say and remind but end of the day it is up to himself to moderate and take precaution. If I say more, he not happy. I am also not one to nag so I just tell him he should know himself and his own health. Just the other day he msged say he had dinner with business partners, drank 白酒 a bit giddy already. 🤷

So happy for you! I feel like, you can start focusing more on yourself. It is a fantastic idea to start the young adults on investing too, you’ve brought them up well! I can’t wait for mine to be at that stage.[/quote]
Oh, I've been focusing more on myself gradually over the years, since they were teenagers, probably. I feel it's best to let them increase their independence bit by bit, not all at once.

I think you have to be 18 (maybe 16?) to have an investment account. My husband set them up with an investment account once the younger one was old enough, and got them to put in some of their ang bao and birthday money in something safe and unexciting. We encourage them to save and invest more while they are still living at home with low expenses.

When you see a snake in front of you, will you be scared even the snake is not coming towards you? Of course \"Yes\". My feeling to dog is the same....even with a well trained dog, when I see dog, my legs will immediately run away. :siam:

Actually dogs nowadays quite tame and well behaved de I find. Just that we are scared of them. When I see owners with dogs waiting for lift, I will let them go first

And one thing I noticed, everytime I see the dogs trimmed their mao mao, I feel like seeing a young boy just had a hair cut…very fresh and again looks very lengzai/handsome.

Thank you for sharing! I am excited to see my children gaining independence and hope they eventually become independent. I still have a long way to go… you’re 10 miles ahead, so I’m totally learning from your experience.
