It being a relatively new marking process means there are more questions from stakeholders who want to understand how it works. Eg
How random is it? select 5 out of 100 scripts? 20 out of 60? We need numbers here to ascertain if it is a decent enough figure for quality check.
1. Is the QC process robust? How extensive is QA sampling etc.
2. What happens if the marker is found to be too lenient/strict based on the QC? Do another marker/Chief Marker remark the earlier scripts? Or are the scores adjusted by some AI which determined the degree of variance?
3. How do they minimise errors such as marker dragging the wrong icon, esp when fatigue sets in after looking at the screen for extended time.
I would want to think they hv run many pilots to stress test onscreen marking before rolling it out. But specifics are not covered in SEAB website. -

Haha!! Agree, it does save quite a lot of money. I think we have a few more rolls before the correction tape runs out. Sarasa is our preferred brand, hope they can continue to use it! (I don’t know they are gel or not). Which brand of 0.5mm blue ballpoint pens, would you recommend?
Yup 0.5mm blue/black ballpoint pens were specifically recommended in the SEAB PSLE Instructions Booklet. But how many actually bothered to read it?
I heard some schools check their students pens to ensure it’s compliant or they have a list of suitable ballpoint pens.
Gel pens and 0.7mm has higher chance of smudging when scanning I guess. I know gel pens like Sarasa are popular among kids. And they also prefer 0.7mm if it’s ballpoint.
But I switched my DS to only 0.5mm ballpoint to get him used to it, around the end of P5, once I got to know the instructions. He was using either gel or 0.7mm BP previously. I also stopped buying refills for correction tapes, save alot of money there. Lol! -

Sarasa is Gel pen. My DS tried afew BP pens and he likes Uni Jetstream. So bought afew boxes from Shopee at one go. It does run out quite fast though.

Might be easier if you just check the option \" Notify me when a reply is posted\" when you post something to the thread. Then an email will be sent to notify you every time someone posts to this specific thread. -
