Your first scenario described my DDs decision. Turned down for DSA by RGS and SCGS. Now applying for NYG and St Nics IP instead. No talent so use brute force. LOL.
Of course !
feelings can go, both ways.
Some P6 students,
having been turned down / rejected by their DSA school,
are not even interested in appealing back to the same old school anymore. Analogy ?
Is like u attend a job interview & they turned u down, so u accept the verdict & move on to some other company to work in,
while others, those who received either
(whose Wait-list Not been converted into CO, but at least they have been offered a Wait-list,
or
received Rejection) ,
will still proceed ahead to try appeal.
( to highlight, the different group of feeling ) -
All the best to every one’s DD or DS in getting the school of his/her/your choice! According to past years, they will send out the posting sms from 6 am. Less than 6 hours to go!

Hi all asking if SNGS have appeal form?
My DD AL8 foreigner got her 2nd choice: RVHS but the sms said Express not IP
I want to know if RVHS got Express?
On MOE website only mentioned IP as their programme and only 1 code for IP that we submitted but we got Express so weird -
