Hi, wanted to hear from existing MSHS parents.
Did/do any of your DS opt NOT to take HCL from Sec 1? My son got in through DSA but he struggled with HCL in P4-P5 that we opted to drop it in P6 just to focus on the 4 PSLE subjects.
The FAQ clearly states that it is not compulsory to take HCL, so I am thinking of just continuing to only take CL and not HCL at all since Sec 1, but wondering how much of a minority DS will be? Like the only kid in the class? If he opts to take Bahasa Indonesia as 3rd language, technically he could still get the 2 points for JC instead of using HCL, am I correct, or am I missing something?

Are many of the announcements made only in Chinese and not English (including announcements to parents)?

We have submitted our school choices and put MSHS as first choice.

Went to the open house and liked that the boys are friendly, confident and respectful. This is also my boy’s choice.
Heard they are changing principal soon, observed teachers to be caring and engaging with parents.
I have a concern, school /classrooms are fairly run down, and very near to the bto site with all the construction work.
Anything to share about this?

Hi Hazeline, thank you for your reply, my son’s build is really small and skinny. I suspect he needs size 24.


May I know if we will be able to get all the sizes of the uniform if we buy on site at school? I tried to go ubi to buy but their appt are all full till next year.

Any advise on how many sets of uniform and pe sets to get? Do we need to use Marist socks?
