Hope Zac recovery fully in good time. He’s young, strong & knows no risks in his life yet. Hv to tell him in other form to raise his sensitivities. Not passing to yr mum is one way to raise his sensitivity. That’s how I get mine to cooperate with hygiene & cleanliness. Missing out this season fun is ano way to sensitize him.
Thx. Timing is the best right now actually (school hols). I can’t decide if I myself want to catch it or not - have some gatherings to attend plus my elderly mum wants to meet up too. Better not catch hor.
Both Zac and you hv one thing less to worry abt with new school term in less then 2 weeks now.
We’re all very careful with hygiene & health esp MIL in her 80s. For now, we’re thankful she have not caught the C, when 99% of the family had one round during the Omicron phase. Not sure if we ever want MIL even to catch any C despite sentiments that it’ll be mild after all the vaccinations.
DH had this persistent cough for last couple of weeks which is still lingering now. No choice. Better we don’t meetup with her than take risks that might compromise her health.
Suddenly, I’ve extra time on hand & had been doing a fair bit of rationalizing what we need, what to giveaway or throw & what CNY meals to prepare. -

Have you brought Zac to see doctor? What kind of medicine that he is taking, antibiotics? Beside coughing, any other symptoms? Fatigue? Take more rest and drink more water, no spicy and oily food. Have you DH already taken the bivalent vaccination?
DS finally caught it (on the plane back from overseas, I suspect). Turned negative today. I haven’t caught it from him though I didnt take special precautions except wash my hands with soap if I touch his mucus-filled tissues. Maybe my bivalent jab doing its job I dunno.
But gosh it has been so tiring nagging him to take his medicines while worrying abt DH delayed elsewhere overseas. Cough is still there.
-

Just cough and runny nose. No fever, no lethargy, no loss of taste or appetite. Generally acting normal except the cough. Didnt see doc but consulted pharmacist when replenishing the medicine. She said no fever no issue, just continue & monitor for any breathlessness.

一日不见,如隔三秋, so it has been 63 秋天了. It is good that he is able to come back for Christmas 🎄. You have to take care yourself too. Both Zac and DH will depend on you. Some of my colleagues are having covid symptoms but their ART test results are still negative and therefore don't 100% trust ART results. Try to sleep early, good night 😴

3 weeks is a long time for a family to be apart. I’m sure Zac misses his daddy as much as u do, just maybe he hasn’t learnt to be expressive abt it.

DH went to doc twice & both times tested negative for C. Also persistent cough. Subconsciously, I suspect might be C. MIL hasn’t seen us last 2 weeks & she has been calling every other day. I’m sure she misses our company. Such is closeness of family relationships.
Zac’s mum, you must do a nice dinner as a family to appreciate that companionship this Christmas! I’m waiting for DH to fully recover so we can celebrate our anniversary, Owise I can’t book our usual Mexican place. -
Consider doing PCR for own peace of mind. That is what I and others I did.

Take care @zac's mum!

Regarding PCR... it's expensive and you will continue to test positive for 1-3 months afterwards. Not sure if it is a good idea. -

There's a lot of flu and other respiratory viruses going around now, so respiratory symptoms don't necessarily mean Covid anymore. A couple of my colleagues have just had Covid a second time, but an equal no. have been down with flu and colds. My husband also just had a fairly severe cold, but tested negative for Covid. I also agree that we should just look at the symptoms - if not severe, it doesn't really matter whether it's Covid or not. If we are concerned about the elderly, even a severe cold or flu poses risks to them, not just Covid, so we can just treat them the same way and there's no need to test.

As for when to catch Covid - after Christmas and recover before CNY would be my choice! But these things are not amenable to scheduling, I'm afraid. I've lived in the same flat with family members with Covid, didn't take precautions, and still didn't get it. -
My sis told me that most time she kept herself away from family members..and she mentioned that the only time she came out is to cook for the family
only her dd caught it as she accidentally used my sis's toothbrush. -

Apologies if I had caused confusion.

What I mean is when unwell with full-blown symptoms, and ART continued to repeatedly show negative for days, we did PCR so that can move on appropriately, with peace of mind.
For somethings, I personally like clarity rather than maybe yes, maybe no.
