only her dd caught it as she accidentally used my sis's toothbrush. -

Apologies if I had caused confusion.
Take care @zac's mum!
Regarding PCR... it's expensive and you will continue to test positive for 1-3 months afterwards. Not sure if it is a good idea.
What I mean is when unwell with full-blown symptoms, and ART continued to repeatedly show negative for days, we did PCR so that can move on appropriately, with peace of mind.
For somethings, I personally like clarity rather than maybe yes, maybe no. -

My family has opted the other way - assume negative unless clearly positive, and don't test unless necessary by law!

Yes, I agree with you, it is better to do a PCR if symptoms coming out for clarity. If positive, then just stay at home instead of going out and spread the virus to any vulnerable groups in the community.

Staying home to stop the spread should apply whether it's Covid or not, or at least the sufferer should keep a mask on if he has to go out, and limit social activities. It's something Singapore didn't practise pre-Covid, but I hope more people will going forward.

We share the same views, also staying home and masking up when out if unsure.

Flu kills too. -
Long Covid, if unlucky, has the potential to affect livelihood and quality of life, and in turn, possibly affect other family members.
And may not be limited to the vulnerable. -

Both Panadol and Nurofen are household names, and their medicines can be easily found in supermarkets and pharmacies.
Most retailers carry a diverse range of brands for each type of medicine, said the ministry. It added that they include generic medicines, “which are just as effective as branded medicines”.
My qn: what are the generic medicines available? For me, i only know panadol or paracetamol for fever/flu. -

Paracetamol is a generic name; Panadol is one of the brand names.

Ibuprofen is a generic name; Nurofen is a brand name.
Just ask at a pharmacy for the generic name. And if they really don't have even the generics, then ask the pharmacist for alternative medicines. They will be able to advise. And generics are much cheaper! I buy 100 tablets of paracetamol for about $6 at Unity (price may be out of date as it was about a year ago).
