        Calling 25hrmaid.............

Here are our kite-flying pictures....thanks for sharing and motivating us to go....and we did! Fantastic weather....not hot at all......worthwhile trip...feels like can go everyday if it is next door to us...

        Our mermaid princess kite:

        Other's dragonfly kite:

        Other kites at a distant:

        Our mini picnic:
        http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/ks2me/P1010510-1.jpg\">

        Water feature at Marina Barrage:
        http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/ks2me/P1010623-1.jpg\">

Beautiful sunset but lousy camera....
        http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/ks2me/P1010618-1.jpg\">
        http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/ks2me/P1010619-1.jpg\">
        http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/ks2me/P1010621-1.jpg\">

Learning experience, I would be buying a more professional string holder...the one recommended by SKP was too filmsy so the screw kept coming off as we flew the kite.

        Another observation:
The ang mos don't fly kite?....maybe they are tourists on their own, not sure. We feel like animals in the zoo being watched by them in flying kites.   A few times different ang mo families walked past our flying spot and just stop to watch us fly the kite. Was kite flying invented in the East? Anyone knows?

Yes, yes, someone calling me?

Wow, you finally made the trip! :rahrah: :celebrate: Glad to hear that I had a 'little part' to play in the fun you and your daughter had today! :celebrate:

Where did you get that mermaid princess kite from? Very nice kite! Like the one of the dragon fly too!

And the food? My goodness, what can I say? So perfect, so tempting though I am not a friend of Hello Kitty!

Did you try to tighten the screw on the string holder? I also bought mine from SKP but it did not give us any problem.

Anyway, glad to hear that the weather was good today and that you had great fun! So when is the next trip to Marina Barrage? Soon? 😉

                ksi,

                the pic are very nice…
i m tempted to bring my kids for kite flying…

there is a very big annual Kite Flying Festival in PRC
                潍坊风筝节 (in Shangdong province)
something like that (forgot exact name)

so perhaps kite flying was invented in ancient time in china…

You should! 😛 So far, Sun_2010 and ksi have been tempted by me, enough to have them buying a kite and going to Marina Barrage to fly kites! 😉

It's really fun and in fact, we are contemplating going there again, but the weather these few days been really crazy. Think ksi was really lucky today!

The kites are very nice! I like the princess kite too. We took the kids to fly kites last year... your fotos inspire me to take them again! We have a very chinese one - a row of fish... my dad got it in China.
