Happy new year 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣🎉
Wonder if anyone got in via NUSHS SIE? They said no cut off point to apply SIE, but during DSA I heard NUSHS students must attain AL1 for Math& Sci and total cannot be more than AL6 -
It is always a good laugh to read your posts.floppy\" post_id=\"2093872\" time=\"1672495516\" user_id=\"97579:
I’ve always suggested that we should rename half our schools Raffles and the other half Hwa Chong. Name change only, cheap cheap. Everybody happy since you have 50% chance of being posted to Raffles and 50% chance of being posted to Hwa Chong (well… everyone happy except those fanboys and fangirls of ACS, SJI, VS, RV, DHS, CGSS, SCGS etc. Sorry, the world isn’t big enough for so many people).

How abt, have a few variations of universal sch uniforms by sec vs pre U etc and allow students to choose the type they wear to sch for a start? No differentiation by sch uniforms. Everyone can wear RI uniform :boogie:
No need mega infra changes.
Now with technology, I am sure the security and identification aspects can be sorted. -

My son have two friends who both scored AL5. They went for the NUS High the 2nd day of result release (24 Nov) for interview and got admitted the next day.

And yes, students need to score AL1 for both maths and science. Not sure about total AL requirement though. -

NUSH recommendation is AL1 for both Math and Science and AL4 - AL6 Total Score. Previously, it was 250+ (~AL8+) and A* in Math/Science.

Just curious, do you know if these two kids attended the NUSH Camp or were interviewed (first time around)? Either way, good for them and many congrats! -

They didn’t attend the camp - my son was the only one who managed to get into the selection camp. Of course he didn’t get selected as well 🥹

Agree 100%.
Yeah. In all seriousness, I quite like the current set up. I feel that each school should be given the time and opportunity to develop their own character and characteristics. -

What you’ve heard, could be true. My friend’s dd got in via SIE total 6 points with AL1 for both math and science. Didn’t attend camp, only interview.
