Of course it still is around - it can't disappear overnight, and probably will hang around for a long, long time. The main thing is that people don't get as sick if they have been vaccinated or have caught it before. No-one is expecting flu to disappear either.

Sounds like when Covid first started in Wuhan. Only difference is that it would have been much more deadly then.

Dd just had some flu symptoms. We were worry, tested negative at home then next day went to clinic get tested again… Luckily negative.

Not all respiratory illnesses are Covid, especially now we are not stuck at home. Remember the pre-Covid days when coughs and colds were considered normal?

If it's an itchy cough, the best remedy is sipping warm water, lozenges, and trying NOT to cough. The more you cough, the more inflamed your throat becomes, and the more you will cough. Keeping the throat warm by sipping warm water, or wearing a scarf, avoiding cold food and drink, and trying to avoid cold air (hard in aircon-ed Singapore) also helps. Cough mixtures (over-the-counter ones are fine) which soothe itchy coughs help too, but are not essential.
If it's a deep phlegmy cough, you can try over-the-counter remedies - ask the pharmacist. If it persists and worsens, especially if accompanied by fever, it could be bacterial and you might need to see a doctor for antibiotics. -
I just ended the semester at SIM, so I'm not going to be \"exposed\" till September this year. Maybe I'll just drag on my bivalent shot till June this year :idea:

Vaccination is free under the National Vaccination Programme for all Singaporea Citizens, Permanent Resident, Long Term Pass Holders and cetain Short Term Pass holders...
The following persons are recommended to receive in 2023, a booster at 1 year after their last booster dose.
Persons aged 60 years and above
Persons who live in aged care facilities
Persons who are medically vulnerable and at higher risk of severe disease who are aged 12 years and above
The updated bivalent vaccines are recommended for this.
Other persons aged 12 years and above may also receive one booster dose at the same interval if they choose to. -
