So, does it mean that
This is from HCI - the cohort sustained a median UAS of 88. Six out of 10 attained 3 H2 Distinctions and above. Four out of 10 scored 4 H2 distinctions and above. Three out of 10 had a perfect UAS of 90.
This is the equivalent from RI - the cohort median UAS is 88. 58% attained 3 H2 distinctions. 43% attained 4H2 distinctions. 25% attained a perfect UAS of 90.
The RI cohort is 1,126. 25% = 281 perfect UAS of 90. The HCI cohort number is unknown. Assuming it is 1,000, 30% = 300 perfect UAS of 90. It depends on who is talking. If medical school is the target, then, UAS of 90 walks the talk.
ALL 2004 born students, who sat for 2022 A-level, from
Junior Colleges (RI + Hwa Chong + Nanyang + Eunoia + Victoria + National + Temasek + Dunman High + River Valley High + SAJC + ACJC + ASRJC + all other remaining JCs), with A-level perfect score UAS
90 points,
All can walk straight, smoothly into Medical faculty (NUS Yong Loo Lin + NTU Lee Kong Chian), assuming they apply for MBBS ? -
May I ask when will the J2 receive any emails from Uni with regards to any scholarships or early admission offers? Is it to certain students who perform very well in block tests or only Prelim? Any kids who successfully receive EA or recommend fm HCI based on what kind of grade or portfolio?
I read from reddit that somehow some students got 90 RP or 80 above was not recommended by their top JC; while surprisingingly some students got below 80 RP received email fm NUS/NTU for EA. Is it true? Any parents can shed some lights on their kids’ experience of receiving any offers (based on their results/any contribution to school etc)? -
It’s a black box really…. U shd hv raised this yest so I could hv asked the leaders at the C1 parent briefing yest…

I believe this is something you can ask the ECG teachers? My understanding is that the recommendation for scholarships application is based on C1 results. Not so sure about EA though.

Sharing personal experience from my son. He applied for the early admission himself. Based on Prelim results, he was offered by 1 University. I did not hear that he was recommended by HCI in anyway; he did not mention anything about it and I'm quite hands-off in this section. I did hear from him that it was difficult getting offers for EA by NUS/NTU; perhaps my son's result is not tops and not on school's radar.

Perhaps your child can approach the ECG dept to ask more ... they are at the age whereby they need to take charge of what they want. -

Wow! That's early to just based on C1 results. Thought they look at Prelim?

Thanks, but I'm referring to offers without personal applications in the 1st place. Don't worry, my dd is taking charge of what she wants, and told me about ECG. But im referring to the Reddit & just curious if parents can share the experience of their kids who receive emails without even applying EA/scholarships personally. Becoz I am more curious about successful experience of being recommended by school without even applying in the first place. . I'm not referring to applying any ea/scholarship by themselves. But anyway, thanks for your input though :xedfingers:

I don’t think scholarships and EA will land on anyone’s lap without applying for them? I think school gives these institutions its recommended list of students and then these o institutions invite these students for EA. Don’t ask me to what’s the criteria cos it’s a black box (how HCI reco) but there’s usually some pattern. And not everyone in Hci is invited to apply for EA.
The rumour on Reddit about some 90RP not invited for local uni EA? Could it be they are earmarked by Hci for overseas Ivy League college early applications?HCI does identify and train such students for such applications.
