My boy attended interview in 2021 but did not get accepted. Are there any of your children tried the second time and was successful?

Hi! Vijay,

I am able to empathize with you and your DS over the anxiety and gruelling wait for all the possible outcome. I read that NUS YLLSOM has already started notifying those shortlisted applicants of their interview dates. NTU LKCSOM has just begun and is still ongoing.
It's encouraging to see that your DS has not given up his passion and would like to give it another try. I think there's still chance for NTU LKCSoM as they have just started notifying their shortlisted applicants. May your DS hear from them soon.
I will share with you how my DS strong determination and positive mindset that finally get him to study medicine after encountering few setbacks on my next thread herein. -
In year 2020 my son was shortlisted for interviews by both medical schools. But was not offered by NUS and was on NTU wait list. In the end was also not offered. He was then enlisted into serving his NS.
After ORD in year 2022 he had tried applying for NUS medicine again via ABAS but was not shortlisted. He didn’t retake his BMAT thus unable to apply for NTU for medicine.
Many doors shut but still there was a door opened. Actually in year 2020, he was being offered a NTU scholarship to study Biomedical science with a conditional DUKE NUS offering to study medicine.
He was now studying biomedical science and also opportunity to attend DUKE NUS medical session to get to know medicine better. He will then continue his full medical degree after getting his Biomedical Science degree. He has been enjoying his study so far.
The route to pursue medicine study is very tough and challenging. It’s really very "Lucky" if you are being selected and getting an offering. -

Thank you. Its really encouraging. I will share with my DS.

Thanks for sharing. Can I know what field in Biomedical science your son is doing? -

He is in the Biomedical Sciences and Biobusiness. In the course he met his fellow course students who had also formally applied for medicine but didn't get offered after interviews.
Hi Desmond
Thanks for sharing. Can I know what field in Biomedical science your son is doing?
They all shared a common passion - Medicine and Sciences. They understand that they can still contribute in the area of medicine and health in their strong knowledge of sciences and research. Some of them who didn't get into conditional medicine pathway by Duke NUS still happy that they are able to work in the allied health industries which is something they are very passionate of. -
Any parents whose son was accepted and was disrupted from NS? For such cases, when will disruption start?

This questions have been asked on our previous chatgroup threads. Upon being accepted by the medical school, the army would be notified by the school to process and release the designated person for his medical studies. All these processes would be completed before his matriculation start.

Anybody interested to acquire some used books and materials for medicine Interviews/MMI/SJT/FSA, pls pm me. My children find them useful and effective.
