He is in the Biomedical Sciences and Biobusiness. In the course he met his fellow course students who had also formally applied for medicine but didn't get offered after interviews.

They all shared a common passion - Medicine and Sciences. They understand that they can still contribute in the area of medicine and health in their strong knowledge of sciences and research. Some of them who didn't get into conditional medicine pathway by Duke NUS still happy that they are able to work in the allied health industries which is something they are very passionate of.

This questions have been asked on our previous chatgroup threads. Upon being accepted by the medical school, the army would be notified by the school to process and release the designated person for his medical studies. All these processes would be completed before his matriculation start.

Disruption commenced as early as in June for last year batch.

The topography, expectations, demands and academic criteria may have changed the medical setting of how our medical schools have diversify their approaches to admission. The key is adapting to the ever-changing conditions and the challenges that the world is facing today.


The landscape of medicine is continually changing, and with so many advancements in technology and the increasing emphasis on patient-centered care, the pace of change can be dizzying. The medical educator’s role is to ensure that the doctors of tomorrow are ready for the future we can see coming and prepared to adapt to the changes we cannot even dream of today.

For example, we can see health care moving from a model in which a single provider — usually a physician — takes care of an individual patient to one in which a team of health care professionals collectively takes responsibility for an individual patient’s care and well-being. Where every decision about a patient used to be routed through the physician, in the new model leadership is fluid. Everyone on the health care team is responsible for taking charge of the patient’s care within his or her own level and area of expertise.

I see that most of the interest has been self-centered on pursuing MBBS rather then MD, the conditional pathway to medicine offered by Duke NUS with partnering local universities. I hope those passionate of medicine is not lacking the imagination alternative exploration.

I believe that the discussion on these topics have matured and no longer garnering interest. Noted most of these topics have been swapped over to other forums.

Wishes all parents of their respective DS/DD who is prospecting for medicine all the best outcome.

Yes, Duke NUS tuition fee is very expensive compared to NUS and NTU. At least those prospective students who long to pursue medicine are given an opportunity and an alternative option to fulfill what they are so passionate of.

Despite the expensive tuition fee the school offer range of scholarships and bursaries to help prospective students so that there are equal opportunity for all students to pursue medicine regardless of their financial standing.

Regardless of NUS, NTU or Duke NUS medical schools, they are great universities that produced outstanding medical professionals that provided support for our overall health systems.
