Hi, thinking of trying DSA for my second girl, problem is she is not talented but writes well and does ok for maths olympiad in P5 (missed the P6 olympiads because she did not score AL1 for maths in P5). I am thinking of applying for English (SCGS), Maths (SCGS) and either English or Maths for TJC for her. Could I ask if any parents can share what they submitted for the English domains in these schools please (would have posted in DSA 2022 but it is locked, hopefully parents with CO in these schools can advise)? Maths is "easier", I could just submit whatever MO certs she got but for English, we did not go for any competitions (was not aware there was any) so I am not sure what the English portfolio is like. Did you just submit marked essay homework or just apply based on grades?

      Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure specifically on English but the DSA portal does not allow for submission of any documents, so you will not be able to submit any essay homework. During submission, you are given 10 extra boxes to fill up awards or activities that showcase their talent, without any attachment. You just need to describe the award or activity, up to 300 words.
However, I do believe for some schools and some talents, the school may reach out later on, to submit additional supporting documents or even submit a write-up as a follow up to the submission. You can check the school website, they should have the criteria and submission requirements.

But I have to highlight 'writes well' may not be good enough for DSA, especially into IP schools. Good luck!

hello, I’m a student(non-GEP) and I’m thinking of participating in EL DSA to RGS this year. I have won a couple of awards(wits and words best speaker, wits and words certificate of participation) and I have gotten AL1s or AL2s (not often) for EL, and most recently, single-digit AL for WA1 (6). I think I may also participate in the Queen’s commonwealth essay competition (if I have time). However, I have also participated in sota cw competition and cwp but I never get selected for both Programmes. Also Wits and Words which is a debate competition organized by RGS. Am I able to get a DSA offer to RGS? thanks 🙂

Congratulations on your awards! It is highly competitive as there are many applicants, so do put your best foot in (DSA- you will have 10 slots to enter your relevant accomplishments and to show that you’re an all round!) and hope for the best! Good luck!

Does the https://www.facebook.com/thedsacentre/ also offer intensive DSA programme for DSA math domain?

What is the dsa centre track record? I know more than 35% of https://nicklebeetutors.com/ students got DSA math domain confirmed offers to those top integrated programme schools.
