One way to save time cooking is to prepare straightaway after u brought them home so no need to thaw. I used to do only once a week supermkt when in Australia. Clean up & marinate, separate to portions. When return fr uni, I’ll just bring out to thaw & cook rice, whilst showering & then to oven to grill. I do the same with my fish. Just lightly marinate so it’ll not be too salty.
I seldom bring kids out to eat..coz I compare cost to 1 chicken. 1 chicken can serve us 1 to 2 meals. Cheaper than even canteen food. Kids school canteen prices no longer cheap liao. I m not very sure though..my impression is that they have lesser noodle/ingredients as well coz they are children mah.
S’times, when a Uni mate drops by, I’ll just take 2 portions fr freezer. -

I think private clinics can be worse - aircon, poor ventilation, long queues. With the online queuing system at polyclinics, it seems less crowded, and the waiting time is a lot shorter. And the ventilation is better (at least at my polyclinic, not sure about others).
It won't make much of a difference until one catches Covid or something else from all the extra waiting in a crowded hospital.

My family higher on greens & fruits. Usual meat diet is chicken or fish. Hardly red meat tho we do not restrict ourselves to red meat when eating out. We oftentimes take less portions of meat, leaving the youngsters more for their protein needs. As we get older, less meat is kinder to our battles digestive system.

Something unbelievable!
The flu jab for a senior (PG) at a clinic is free. -

Am sceptical when things are free. Ok covid vac is free.
Another clinic said $32 before GST.
CGH said w/o prescription from a doc, it will be private patient's rate at $30. -

Singapore does not allow for assisted suicide for the old and sick. Dare we review this?
When Sg has become super-aged, we will not be the ones deciding, as we will be the aged population. So perhaps we should voluntarily make it easier on our kids - refuse medical solutions that prolong a life of poor health (as opposed to a life of good health) and get out of their hair?
Asking PRs to return to their homelands might mean they will experience poorer healthcare, and may also mean that they leave their children and grandchildren behind in Singapore. Many will have lived in Singapore for much of their working lives, and perhaps built up the healthcare system. That may be a \"good\" solution, but not very kind.
Definitely not easy to draw the line when to stop treatment or even pull the plug. What if aged parents rather die than go for kidney dialysis? We should respect their decision or persuade them to persevere on?
I think there’s a misconception here.
No longer a PR does not mean forever cannot step into Singapore to visit their children/grandchildren.
Alternatively, maybe govt can get all the PRs to be insured under private medical plan so that PRs have no incentive to go public hospitals / polyclinics. The wait for a hospital bed can be up to 4 days! So spread the load!
