I am sorry about scarring you Barachan and all others in the forum.
Yes, I too went to collect the PV letter and this time the office staff was nice enough to let me know that after the selection process the PV has been cut down from 56 to 32. The last time I checked with the office they would only tell me that it was 60+ and scared me enough to prepare for backup.barachan:
Dear all
I just received a call from the school. They said PV for last year is 32 not 60. They are preparing PV letters now so we can collect personally at school when its ready.
Very excited about the registration. I had a big problem understanding the balloting chart results. Based on your views, you think my girl has a gd chance to get into RMPS.
I confirmed with the school already that we are not within 2km from the school, but falls under P2B as I did the PV:)
Thanks

According to MOE website the places available is 240. So was it the same last year, or have they reduced the number of classes?
It was 240 last year, too. -
Hi,
I’m new here and would like some advise from all parents.
My girl born in Year 2005 and will need to register for P1 in Year 2011. We are staying at Jurong which did not have any primary school within 1 or 2 KM. My girl is currently taken care by my mum who stay near Queenway. I will be using my mum address to register for P1 for my girl.
I have submitted PV application form to Fairfield a few months ago and just gotten their letter stating "unsuccessful". Now I’m very stress out as I did not submit any other PV application and most school end the PV application by end of Jun which is only a few days later.
1) The primary school which is within 2KM from my mum house is New Town and Queentown. Does anyone know whether Phase 2C within 1-2KM for New Town need to ballot? Do I need to do PV for New Town to secure a place? I have tried to check in this webpage for the statistic but I could not understand what the %, APP and TUR mean. Anyone can advise?
2) I have the following primary school in mind also:
- RVPS - But the distance is a headache to us
- ZDPS - it is nearer to my mum house
Is ZDPS ok? Compare to New Town, which is better? Should I submit PV for ZDPS?
I’m thinking to do PV in ZDPS and enrol in Phase 2B. If cannot get, then go to New Town under Phase 2C. Is this safe? Or I should concentrate on 1 school?
Appreciate any advise from anyone as I am quite lost over here. I could not decide what to do next. Thank you so much for your time. -

Have you reported yourself in the newbie thread? Generally do PV give you a better edge in the P1 registration if you have the luck (To be selected by the school) & the time to be invested in PV.
This is just my own opinion of the primary schools:
(1) ZhangDe Primary (No exam & not so stressful like RVPS)
(2) River Valley Primary (Quite stressful where also driiling type)
(3) New Town (Old school for decades where need to see new set of performance as recently merge with Ghim Moh Primary)
(4) Queenstown (Do not have any information)
By the way, if you are using the parent's address, do take note of the following:
children who are registered using either of the grandparent’s or parent’s sibling’s address and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km of the school of choice are balloted together with other children residing between 1 and 2 km of the school. -
Hi Titank,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I have reported to the newbie thread.
Most probably I will try my luck for PV at ZhangDe Primary school. I do not know whether I understand the statistic correctly. Base on past record, ZhangDe in Phase 2B does not need to ballot right? Even more than 2KM? Which mean if I'm lucky to be accepted as PV in ZhangDe, most probably will be able to go in? Of course I understand there is nothing that is guarantee. Just want to make sure I interpret the past data correctly.
Oh, you mean if I use my parent address, even residing within 1 KM or 2KM will be consider as 1-2KM for balloting? I will check more on this.
Many thanks!

You are right!DJDX:
Right, again. :lol:Even more than 2KM?

As long as you understand there is no such thing as \"guarantee\".DJDX:
Yes, as long as you are using the caregiver's address, your child falls under the 1-2 km category, even if the caregiver lives right next to the school.Oh, you mean if I use my parent address, even residing within 1 KM or 2KM will be consider as 1-2KM for balloting? I will check more on this.

Hello All;
I applied for PV at RMPS early this year so far no news from school but I heard from my neighbour that she got a call from RMPS ,
She took 3 days leave to do the PV and has clocked 30 hours.
Does this mean I have no chance for RMPS's PV ?
Wondering if RMPS will inform me that they reject my application or just let me assume that no call mean no hope? :?
Parents who had done PV at RMPS, can you please advise ?
Many Thanks
Nokyung -
Gee... no worries witty22, we all are very excited about the P1 registration
