MOE Kindergarten (MK)
-
Disclaimer - my kids are adults now, and so I've not had kids in MK. However, 2 of my friends are/were MK teachers (one has left to become a SAHM). I can answer some of your questions based on what I've heard. For more info, have a look at the website, or try to go to an open house - I expect they have some.

Hi, anyone care to share experiences on MOE Kindergarten? Timetable etc? This, I don't know.
Do they have any events where kids still get to dress up according to event e.g CNY, Hari Raya, Story telling dress up etc or totally no frills as if going to Primary one preparation? Also are there any field trips outings? Yes, they have dress-ups, outings, etc. Quite a lot of \"play\". It's less academic than some kindergartens, as far as I've heard. P1 prep is kept moderate. In fact, the ethos of MK is to limit P1 prep to what is developmentally appropriate, rather than try to have P1 material covered before the kids get to P1 (which is apparently what some centres try to do?).
Do they have parents participation opportunities e.g sports day, parents get invited to watch or spend time with their kids for certain events? Not sure, but I would expect so. And teachers will take photos and update parents about activities if the parents aren't there.
I heard that the culture is totally different as compared to private schools or even My First Skool etc. No idea.
Would also like to know if they have graduation ceremony with kids perfomance for parents to keep as memories? Any pictures/videos taken on graduation day too? I saw some schools with kids performing during their graduation for other schools so wonder if MOE Kindergarten has it. Yes, they have graduation, performances etc. It may not be as fancy as those from private kindergartens, as they cater for the \"ordinary\" folk, not the rich.
Appreciate any kind inputs on this. Anything else to take note of too? TIA!

Do you have any idea how is the parent to teacher communication like? Via app or still old school communications book method?

Not sure. But I can't imagine it's only using a book. On the other hand, I would expect that parents and teachers won't want to be using WA unless it's urgent. Teachers who spend time on their phones with each parent won't be able to teach much! Why not just ask at one of the MKs?
